It was narrated to us by Hasan, who said: It was narrated to us by Ibn Lahi'ah, who said: It was narrated to us by Ibn Hubayrah, that he heard Abu Tamim al-Jayshani say: Sa'id informed me that he heard Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman say: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was absent from us one day and did not come out, until we thought he would never come out. When he came out, he prostrated a single prostration, so we thought that his soul had been taken during it. When he raised his head, he said: "Indeed my Lord, Blessed and Exalted is He, consulted me concerning my nation - what should I do with them? I said: Whatever You wish, my Lord; they are Your creation and Your servants. Then He consulted me a second time, and I said the same to Him. He said: I will not grieve you concerning your nation, O Muhammad. And He gave me the glad tidings that the first of my nation to enter Paradise will be seventy thousand, with every thousand another seventy thousand, upon whom there will be no reckoning. Then He sent to me, and said: Call and you will be answered, ask and you will be given. I said to His messenger: Will my Lord truly give me what I ask? He said: He did not send me to you except to give you. My Lord, Mighty and Majestic, has indeed given me - and this is not boasting - He has forgiven me what preceded of my sin and what will come after, while I walk alive and sound; and He has given me that my nation will not go hungry nor be overcome; and He has given me al-Kawthar, which is a river from Paradise flowing into my basin; and He has given me might, victory, and awe that runs before my nation for a month's journey; and He has given me that I am the first of the prophets to enter Paradise; and He has made lawful and pure for me and my nation the spoils of war, and He has permitted for us much of what was made strict for those before us, and He has not placed upon us any hardship."
