حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ عَنِ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ أَنَّ يَحْيَى بْنَ يَعْمَرَ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ أَبَا الْأَسْوَدِ الدِّيْلِيَّ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ أَبَا ذَرٍّ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعَلَيْهِ ثَوْبٌ أَبْيَضُ فَإِذَا هُوَ نَائِمٌ ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُهُ أُحَدِّثُهُ فَإِذَا هُوَ نَائِمٌ ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُهُ وَقَدْ اسْتَيْقَظَ فَجَلَسْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ قَالَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ثُمَّ مَاتَ عَلَى ذَلِكَ إِلَّا دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ قُلْتُ وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ قَالَ وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ قُلْتُ وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ قَالَ وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ قَالَ فِي الرَّابِعَةِ عَلَى رَغْمِ أَنْفِ أَبِي ذَرٍّ قَالَ فَخَرَجَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ يَجُرُّ إِزَارَهُ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ وَإِنْ رَغِمَ أَنْفُ أَبِي ذَرٍّ قَالَ فَكَانَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ يُحَدِّثُ بِهَذَا بَعْدُ وَيَقُولُ وَإِنْ رَغِمَ أَنْفُ أَبِي ذَرٍّ.

Abd al-Samad told us: my father told me: Husayn told us, from Ibn Buraydah, that Yahya ibn Ya'mar told him, that Abu al-Aswad al-Dili told him, that Abu Dharr said: I came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, while he was wearing a white garment, and he was asleep. Then I came to him to speak with him, and he was still asleep. Then I came to him and he had woken up, so I sat with him, and he said: "There is no servant who says 'There is no god but Allah' and then dies upon that, but that he enters Paradise." I said: Even if he committed fornication and even if he stole? He said: "Even if he committed fornication and even if he stole." I said: Even if he committed fornication and even if he stole? He said: "Even if he committed fornication and even if he stole" - three times. Then he said the fourth time: "Despite the objection of Abu Dharr's nose." Abu Dharr went out dragging his lower garment, saying: "Even if it displeases the nose of Abu Dharr!" Abu Dharr would narrate this afterward and say: "Even if it displeases the nose of Abu Dharr."
