Affan narrated to us: Shu'bah narrated to us: Humayd ibn Hilal informed me: he heard Abdullah ibn as-Samit, from Abu Dharr, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "A man's prayer is interrupted, if there is nothing in front of him like the back of a saddle, by a woman, a donkey, or a black dog." I said: "What is the difference between the black one and the red one?" He said: "Nephew, I asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, just as you have asked me, and he said: 'The black dog is a devil.'"
