الترجمة الإنجليزية
Yazid told us, Isma'il ibn Abi Khalid informed us, from Qays ibn Abi Hazim, who said: We came to Khabbab ibn al-Aratt, may Allah be pleased with him, to visit him, and he had been cauterized seven times in his belly. He said: "Were it not that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade us to wish for death, I would have wished for it, for my illness has grown long." Then he said: "Our companions who have passed away were not diminished in the least by this world; but we, after them, have obtained wealth for which we find no use except in this dust." He said: He was building a wall of his, and: "The Muslim man is rewarded for all his spending, except for what he places in this dust."
