Waki' told us, Bukayr ibn Amir told us, from Ibn Abi Nu'm, from al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah, who said: I was with the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, on a journey. He relieved himself, then performed ablution and wiped over his leather socks. I said, "O Messenger of God, have you forgotten?" He said, "Rather, you have forgotten. My Lord, mighty and majestic, has commanded me to do this."
