Rawh said: Hammad ibn Salama narrated to us from Jabala ibn 'Atiyya from Ibn Muhayriz from Mu'awiya, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: 'When Allah, Mighty and Majestic, wishes good for a servant, He grants him understanding of the religion.' 'Abdullah narrated to us, saying: I found these words at the end of this hadith in my father's book, in his own handwriting, joined to it, though he had struck a line through it, so I do not know whether he read it to me or not: 'And the listener who obeys has no argument against him, and the listener who disobeys has no argument for himself.'
