حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ أَبِي شَيْخٍ الْهُنَائِيِّ قَالَ كُنْتُ فِي مَلَإٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عِنْدَ مُعَاوِيَةَ فَقَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ أَنْشُدُكُمْ اللَّهَ أَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ لُبْسِ الْحَرِيرِ قَالُوا اللَّهُمَّ نَعَمْ قَالَ وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ قَالَ أَنْشُدُكُمْ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى أَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ لُبْسِ الذَّهَبِ إِلَّا مُقَطَّعًا قَالُوا اللَّهُمَّ نَعَمْ قَالَ وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ قَالَ أَنْشُدُكُمْ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى أَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ رُكُوبِ النُّمُورِ قَالُوا اللَّهُمَّ نَعَمْ قَالَ وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ قَالَ أَنْشُدُكُمْ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى أَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ الشُّرْبِ فِي آنِيَةِ الْفِضَّةِ قَالُوا اللَّهُمَّ نَعَمْ قَالَ وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ قَالَ أَنْشُدُكُمْ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى أَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ جَمْعٍ بَيْنَ حَجٍّ وَعُمْرَةٍ قَالُوا أَمَّا هَذَا فَلَا قَالَ أَمَا إِنَّهَا مَعَهُنَّ.

Affan told us, he said: Hammam told us, he said: Qatadah told us, from Abu Shaykh al-Hunai, who said: I was in a gathering of the companions of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, with Mu'awiyah, and Mu'awiyah said: I adjure you by Allah, do you know that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade wearing silk? They said: By Allah, yes. He said: And I bear witness. He said: I adjure you by Allah, exalted is He, do you know that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade wearing gold except in small amounts? They said: By Allah, yes. He said: And I bear witness. He said: I adjure you by Allah, exalted is He, do you know that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade riding on leopard skins? They said: By Allah, yes. He said: And I bear witness. He said: I adjure you by Allah, exalted is He, do you know that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade drinking from silver vessels? They said: By Allah, yes. He said: And I bear witness. He said: I adjure you by Allah, exalted is He, do you know that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade combining Hajj and Umrah? They said: As for this, no. He said: But it is included with them.
