حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا أَخْبَرَنَا حَجَّاجٌ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ وَعَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى أَنْ يُبَاعَ مَا فِي رُءُوسِ النَّخْلِ بِتَمْرٍ كَيْلًا وَبِهِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى أَنْ تُبَاعَ الثِّمَارُ حَتَّى يَبْدُوَ صَلَاحُهَا وَأَنْ تُبَاعَ سَنَتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثًا.

Yahya ibn Zakariyya told us, Hajjaj informed us, from Ata and from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir: that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade selling what is on the tops of palm trees for measured dates, and likewise that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade selling fruits before their ripeness becomes evident, and forbade selling them for two or three years in advance.
