Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, from Humayd, from Anas, who said: When [the verses] were revealed, "You will not attain righteousness until you spend from what you love," and "Who is it that will lend Allah a goodly loan," Abu Talhah said: "O Messenger of Allah, my orchard which is in such-and-such a place — by Allah, if I could have kept it secret I would not have announced it." He said: "Put it toward the poor of your family."
