حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَطِيَّةُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ عَمَّنْ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا قَالَ سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَا لَكَ الْحَمْدُ مِلْءَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَمِلْءَ الْأَرْضِ وَمِلْءَ مَا شِئْتَ مِنْ شَيْءٍ بَعْدُ أَهْلَ الثَّنَاءِ وَالْمَجْدِ أَحَقُّ مَا قَالَ الْعَبْدُ وَكُلُّنَا لَكَ عَبْدٌ لَا مَانِعَ لِمَا أَعْطَيْتَ وَلَا يَنْفَعُ ذَا الْجَدِّ مِنْكَ الْجَدُّ.

Abu al-Mughira told us, Sa'id ibn Abd al-Aziz told us, who said: Atiyya ibn Qays told me, from one who related to him, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, who said: "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, when he said, 'Allah hears whoever praises Him,' would say: 'O Allah, our Lord, to You is due all praise, filling the heavens and filling the earth and filling whatever You wish besides, O Possessor of praise and glory. The most fitting thing a servant can say - and we are all Your servants - none can withhold what You have given, and the fortune of the fortunate does not avail against You.'"
