حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَفَّانُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ، أَنَّ رَجُلاً، قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ كَأَنَّ دَلْوًا دُلِّيَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ فَجَاءَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ فَأَخَذَ بِعَرَاقِيهَا فَشَرِبَ شُرْبًا ضَعِيفًا ثُمَّ جَاءَ عُمَرُ فَأَخَذَ بِعَرَاقِيهَا فَشَرِبَ حَتَّى تَضَلَّعَ ثُمَّ جَاءَ عُثْمَانُ فَأَخَذَ بِعَرَاقِيهَا فَشَرِبَ حَتَّى تَضَلَّعَ ثُمَّ جَاءَ عَلِيٌّ فَأَخَذَ بِعَرَاقِيهَا فَانْتَشَطَتْ وَانْتَضَحَ عَلَيْهِ مِنْهَا شَىْءٌ .
الترجمة الإنجليزية
It is narrated by Hadrat Samurah ibn Jundub (may Allah be well pleased with him) that a man submitted: O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)! I saw as though a bucket was let down from the sky. Hadrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be well pleased with him) came first and caught hold of both ends of its handle and drank a little. Then Hadrat 'Umar (may Allah be well pleased with him) came and caught hold of both ends of its handle and drank his fill. Then Hadrat ' Uthman (may Allah be well pleased with him) came and caught hold of both ends of its handle and drank his fill. Then Hadrat Ali al-Murtada (may Allah ennoble his countenance) came and caught hold of both ends of its handle, but it overflowed and some of its water splashed upon him.
الترجمة الأردية
حضرت سمرہ بن جندب رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ ایک شخص نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! میں نے دیکھا گویا آسمان سے ایک ڈول لٹکایا گیا — پہلے حضرت ابوبکر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ آئے اور اس کی دونوں لکڑیاں پکڑ کر تھوڑا سا پیا، پھر حضرت عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ آئے اور دونوں لکڑیاں پکڑ کر خوب سیر ہو کر پیا، پھر حضرت عثمان رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ آئے اور دونوں لکڑیاں پکڑ کر خوب سیر ہو کر پیا، پھر حضرت علی المرتضیٰ کرّم اللہ تعالیٰ وجہہ الکریم آئے اور دونوں لکڑیاں پکڑیں تو وہ چھلک گیا اور اس میں سے کچھ ان پر بھی پڑ گیا۔
