The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'The most excellent of seeking forgiveness is that the servant says: O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no god but You. You created me and I am Your servant, and I am upon Your covenant and promise as best I can. I seek refuge with You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your blessings upon me and I acknowledge my sins. So forgive me, for none forgives sins but You.'
