Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:5938 حَدَّثَنَا أَسْلَمُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبَانَ ثنا مُبَشِّرُ بْنُ مُكَسِّرٍ عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَعَرَضَتْ عَلَيْهِ نَفْسَهَا فَسَكَتَ فَقَامَتْ حَتَّى رَثَيْنَا لَهَا مِنْ طُولِ الْقِيَامِ فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ زَوِّجْنِيهَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَقَالَ «مَا تُصْدِقُهَا؟» قَالَ هَذِهِ الشَّمْلَةَ الَّتِي عَلَيَّ لَيْسَ عِنْدِي غَيْرُهَا قَدْ عَقَدَهَا عَلَى صَدْرِهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ «أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ عَرَّسْتَ أَعِنْدَكَ غَيْرُهَا؟» قَالَ لَا وَاللهِ قَالَ «اذْهَبْ فَاطْلُبْ وَلَوْ خَاتَمًا مِنْ حَدِيدٍ» فَذَهَبَ فَمَكَثَ مَا شَاءَ اللهُ ثُمَّ جَاءَ فَقَالَ مَا وَجَدْتُ خَاتَمًا مِنْ حَدِيدٍ فَقَالَ «مَا مَعَكَ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ؟» قَالَ آيَةُ كَذَا وَآيَةُ كَذَا قَالَ فَقَالَ «فَقَدْ زَوَّجْتُكَ عَلَى مَا مَعَكَ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ»
انگریزی ترجمہ
Sahl ibn Sa'd narrated that a woman came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and offered herself to him. He was silent, and she stood until we felt sorry for her from the length of her standing. A man stood up and said: "O Messenger of Allah, marry me to her." He said: "What dowry would you give her?" He said: "This shawl that is on me — I have nothing else." He had tied it around his chest. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "If you were to consummate the marriage, would you have anything else?" He said: "No, by Allah." He said: "Go and look, even for an iron ring." He went and waited as long as Allah willed, then came back and said: "I could not find even an iron ring." He said: "What do you know of the Quran?" He said: "Such and such verses." He said: "I have married you to her for what you know of the Quran."
