Ibn Abbas narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Indeed, Allah has made Makkah sacred. It was not lawful for anyone before me, nor will it be lawful for anyone after me. It was only made lawful for me for an hour of a day. Then it is sacred by the sacredness of Allah — its trees must not be cut, its game must not be startled, and its grass must not be uprooted.' Al-Abbas said: 'Except for the idhkhir plant.' He said: 'Except for the idhkhir.'
