Ibn Abbas reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Three shall not enter Paradise: the habitual drunkard, the one who is undutiful to his parents, and the one who reminds others of his favors.' Ibn Abbas said: That was hard upon me because believers commit sins, until I found it in the Book of Allah. Regarding the undutiful: 'Would you perhaps, if you turned away, cause corruption on earth and sever your ties of kinship?' Regarding the one who reminds of favors: 'Do not invalidate your charities with reminders of generosity and injury.' And regarding the drunkard: 'Indeed, intoxicants, gambling, stone altars, and divining arrows are but defilement,' until His saying, 'so avoid it.'
