وعن أبي قتادة رضي الله عنه قال: سئل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: عن صوم يوم عرفة؟ قال: "يكفر السنة الماضية والباقية" ((رواه مسلم)).
انگریزی ترجمہ
Hadrat Abu Qatadah (may Allah be well pleased with him) reported that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) was asked about the observance of Saum (fasting) on the day of 'Arafah. He said, "It is an expiation for the sins of the preceding year and the current year.".
اردو ترجمہ
حضرت ابوقتادہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے عرفہ کے دن کے روزے کے بارے میں پوچھا گیا تو ارشاد فرمایا: 'یہ پچھلے اور آئندہ سال کے گناہوں کا کفارہ ہے۔'
