عن أنس رضي الله عنه قال: مروا بجنازة، فأثنوا عليها خيراً، فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم الله عليه وسلمى الله عليه وسلم الله عليه وسلم : "وجبت”، ثم مروا بأخرى، فأثنوا عليها شراً، فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلمى الله عليه وسلم الله عليه وسلم الله عليه وسلم : "وجبت" فقال عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله عنه: ما وجبت؟ قال: "هذا أثنيتم عليه خيراً، فوجبت له الجنة، وهذا أثنيتم عليه شراً فوجبت عليه النار، أنتم شهداء الله في الأرض” ((متفق عليه)).
انگریزی ترجمہ
Hadrat Anas (may Allah be well pleased with him) reported:Some Companions happened to pass by a funeral procession (bier) and they praised him (the deceased). the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated, "He will certainly enter it." Then they passed by another funeral procession and they spoke ill of the deceased. the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated, "He will certainly enter it." `Umar bin Al-Khattab (may Allah be well pleased with him) said: "(O Beloved Messenger of Allah,) what do you mean by `He will certainly enter it?'' He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) replied, "You praised the first person, so he will enter Jannah; and you spoke ill of the second person, so he will enter Hell. You are Allah's witnesses on earth." .
اردو ترجمہ
حضرت انس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں کہ ایک جنازہ گزرا جس کی لوگوں نے تعریف کی، تو نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: 'واجب ہو گئی (جنت)۔' پھر ایک اور جنازہ گزرا جس کے بارے میں لوگوں نے بُرا کہا، تو آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: 'واجب ہو گئی (جہنم)۔' حضرت عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے عرض کیا: کیا واجب ہو گئی؟ ارشاد فرمایا: 'تم نے اس کی تعریف کی تو اس کے لیے جنت واجب ہو گئی، اور تم نے اس کے بارے میں بُرا کہا تو اس کے لیے جہنم واجب ہو گئی، تم زمین پر اللہ کے گواہ ہو۔'
