-عن أبى موسى الأشعري رضي الله عنه قال: دخلت على النبى صلى الله عليه وسلم أنا ورجلان من بني عمي، فقال أحدهما: يا رسول الله أمرنا على بعض ما ولاك الله، عز وجل، وقال الآخر مثل ذلك، فقال: “إنا والله لا نولى هذا العمل أحدا سأله، أو أحدا حرص عليه” ((متفق عليه)) .
انگریزی ترجمہ
Hadrat Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be well pleased with him) reported that I called on the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) with two of my cousins. One of them said to him: "O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), appoint me governor of some land over which Allah has given you authority." The other also requested for something of the same nature. Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated, "By Allah we do not appoint someone to this post who seeks it or someone who contends for it." .
اردو ترجمہ
حضرت ابو موسیٰ اشعری رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا اور میرے ساتھ میرے دو چچا زاد بھائی تھے۔ ان میں سے ایک نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! جو اللہ عزوجل نے آپ کو ولایت دی ہے اس میں سے کسی چیز پر ہمیں امیر بنا دیجیے۔ اور دوسرے نے بھی ایسا ہی کہا۔ آپ نے فرمایا: اللہ کی قسم! ہم اس عہدے پر ایسے شخص کو نہیں لگاتے جو اسے مانگے یا جو اس کا حریص ہو۔ (متفق علیہ)
