وعن سلمه بن الأكوع رضي الله عنه أن رجلاً أكل عند رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بشماله، فقال: “كل بيمينك” قال: لا أستطيع! قال: “لا اتسطعت” ما منعه إلا الكبر. قال: فما رفعه إلى فيه”. ((رواه مسلم)).
انگریزی ترجمہ
Salamah bin Al-Akwa' (may Allah be well pleased with him) reported that a man ate in the presence of Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) with his left hand. He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said, "Eat with your right hand." He said: "I cannot." Thereupon he (the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)) said, "May you never be able to do that." It was arrogance that prevented him from doing it, and he could not raise it (the right hand) up to his mouth afterwards..
اردو ترجمہ
حضرت سلمۃ بن اکوع رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں کہ ایک شخص نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے پاس بائیں ہاتھ سے کھایا۔ آپ نے فرمایا: دائیں ہاتھ سے کھاؤ۔ اس نے کہا: میں نہیں کر سکتا! آپ نے فرمایا: تو کبھی نہ کر سکے! اسے صرف تکبر نے روکا تھا۔ (راوی) فرماتے ہیں: وہ اس کے بعد اپنا (دایاں) ہاتھ منہ تک نہ اٹھا سکا۔ (مسلم)
