It is narrated from Abdullah bin Abi Qatadah that his father Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) demanded repayment of a debt from one of his debtors, but the man hid himself. Then he found him, and the man said: "I am in difficulty." Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "By Allah?" He said: "By Allah." Then Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: "Whoever would like Allah to save him from the hardships of the Day of Resurrection, let him grant respite to the one in difficulty or forgive him (the debt)." اردو ترجمہ
عبداللہ بن ابی قتادہ سے روایت ہے کہان کے والد سیدنا ابوقتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے اپنے ایک قرضدار سے قرض کا مطالبہ کیا تو وہ چھپ گیا۔ پھر اس کو پایا تو وہ بولا کہ میں نادار ہوں۔ سیدنا ابوقتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ اللہ کی قسم؟ اس نے کہا اللہ کی قسم۔ تب سیدنا ابوقتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ میں نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے سنا ہے کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمفرماتے تھے: جس شخص کو پسند ہو کہ اللہ تعالیٰ اس کو قیامت کے دن کی سختیوں سے نجات دے، تو وہ نادار کو مہلت دے یا اس کو (قرض) معاف کر دے[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 964]
