انگریزی ترجمہ
Narrated Abu Ishaq: I was sitting with al-Aswad ibn Yazid in the Great Mosque, and al-Sha'bi was with us. Al-Sha'bi related the hadith of Fatimah bint Qays (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) provided her neither housing nor maintenance. (On hearing this) al-Aswad took a handful of pebbles and threw them at al-Sha'bi and said: Woe to you, you relate this? Whereas Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We cannot abandon the Book of Allah the Exalted and the Sunnah of our Prophet (peace be upon him) for the statement of a woman, for we do not know — perhaps she forgot or remembered. (The woman divorced three times) should be given housing and maintenance too, for Allah the Exalted said: "Do not expel them from their houses, unless they commit a clear indecency (i.e., adultery)." اردو ترجمہ
ابواسحاق کہتے ہیں کہمیں اسود بن یزید کے ساتھ بڑی مسجد میں بیٹھا ہوا تھا اور شعبی بھی ہمارے ساتھ تھے تو شعبی نے سیدہ فاطمہ بنت قیس رضی اللہ عنہا کی حدیث بیان کی کہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے نہ اسے گھر دلوایا اور نہ خرچ۔ (یہ سن کر) اسود نے ایک مٹھی کنکر لے کر شعبی کی طرف پھینکی اور کہا کہ افسوس تم اسے روایت کرتے ہو؟ اور حالانکہ سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ ہم اللہ تعالیٰ کی کتاب اور اپنے نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی سنت کو ایک عورت کے قول سے نہیں چھوڑ سکتے معلوم نہیں شاید وہ بھول گئی یا یاد رکھا۔ (مطلقہ ثلاثہ کو) گھر دینا چاہئے اور خرچہ بھی کہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے فرمایا:”مت نکالو ان کو ان کے گھروں سے مگر جب وہ کوئی کھلی بے حیائی کریں (یعنی زنا)“۔ (الطلاق: 1)[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 890]
