Narrated the Commander of the Faithful, Ali (may Allah be pleased with him): I said: O Messenger of Allah! Why is it that you gladly marry within (the family of) Quraysh but leave us aside? (i.e., we have marriage prospects available, but you do not take them.) So he (peace be upon him) said: "Do you have any (marriageable) match?" I said: Yes, the daughter of Hamzah (may Allah be pleased with him), the Chief of the Martyrs (who was the paternal cousin of both the Prophet, peace be upon him, and Ali, may Allah be pleased with him). So the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "She is not lawful for me, for she is the daughter of my foster-brother." (The reason was that the Prophet, peace be upon him, and Hamzah, may Allah be pleased with him, had both nursed from the same woman.) [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 876]
اردو ترجمہ
امیرالمؤمنین سیدنا علی رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہمیں نے کہا کہ یا رسول اللہ! آپ کو کیا ہے کہ (خاندان) قریش میں (نکاح) شوق سے کرتے ہیں لیکن ہمیں چھوڑ دیتے ہیں؟ (یعنی ہمارے پاس رشتے موجود ہیں لیکن آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلملیتے ہی نہیں) تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ کیا تمہارے پاس کوئی رشتہ ہے؟ میں نے کہا ہاں، (سید الشہداء) حمزہ رضی اللہ عنہ کی بیٹی ہے (جو کہ نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماور سیدنا علی رضی اللہ عنہ کی چچا زاد بہن تھی)، تو نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ وہ میرے لئے حلال نہیں، کیونکہ وہ میرے رضاعی بھائی کی بیٹی ہے۔ (وجہ یہ تھی کہ نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماور سیدنا حمزہ رضی اللہ عنہ دونوں نے ایک ہی عورت کا دودھ پیا تھا)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 876]
