انگریزی ترجمہ
Narrated Abdullah ibn Sarjis, he said: I saw al-Asla (that is, one on whose head there is no hair, by which is meant Umar (may Allah be pleased with him)) (from this it is learned that if someone's nickname becomes well known and he does not mind it, then it is permissible to refer to him by that nickname, even if another person minds it) kissing the Black Stone and saying, "By Allah, I kiss you, and I know that you are but a stone that can neither cause harm nor bring benefit; and had I not seen the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) kissing you, I would never have kissed you." (By this statement the grandmother of the idol-worshipers, the grave-worshipers, and the shrine-worshipers died—those who kiss graves and the like with the belief that they will grant their wishes; because, when the Black Stone, which is the right hand of Allah, is kissed only in following the noble Messenger (peace be upon him), and not with the belief that it is harmful or beneficial, then how can other things—whose kissing is nowhere established, but is rather forbidden—be permissible with that impure belief?)
اردو ترجمہ
عبداللہ بن سرجس کہتے ہیں کہمیں نے اصلع (یعنی جس کے سر پر بال نہ ہوں، اس سے مراد سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ ہیں) کو دیکھا (اس سے معلوم ہوا کہ کسی کا لقب اگر مشہور ہو جائے اور وہ اس سے برا نہ مانے تو اس لقب سے اسے یاد کرنا درست ہے اگرچہ دوسرا شخص برا مانے) اور وہ حجراسود کو بوسہ دیتے ہوئے کہتے تھے کہ قسم ہے اللہ تعالیٰ کی کہ میں تجھے بوسہ دیتا ہوں اور جانتا ہوں کہ تو ایک پتھر ہے کہ نہ نقصان پہنچا سکتا ہے اور نہ نفع دے سکتا ہے اور اگر میں نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو نہ دیکھا ہوتا کہ وہ تجھے بوسہ دیتے تھے تو میں تجھے کبھی بوسہ نہ دیتا (اس قول سے بت پرستوں اور گور (قبر) پرستوں اور چلہ پرستوں کی نانی مر گئی جو قبروں وغیرہ کو اس خیال سے بوسہ دیتے ہیں کہ ہماری مراد دیں گے اس لئے کہ جب حجراسود جو یمن اللہ ہے اس کا بوسہ بھی اتباع رسول کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے سبب سے ہے نہ اس خیال سے کہ ضرر رساں یا نفع دہندہ ہے تو پھر اور چیزیں جن کا بوسہ کہیں ثابت نہیں بلکہ منع ہے اس خیال ناپاک کے ساتھ کیونکر جائز ہو گا؟)[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 696]
