Narrated Abu Said al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) made itikaf during the first ten days of Ramadan, then during the middle ten days in a Turkish tent over whose door a mat was hung. (At the beginning of the last ten days) he (Abu Said al-Khudri) relates that the Prophet (peace be upon him) took the mat with his blessed hand, put it into a corner of the tent, put out his head, and addressed the people, so the people drew near to him. He (peace be upon him) said, "I made itikaf during the first ten days seeking this night (Laylat al-Qadr), then I made itikaf during the middle ten days. Then someone (an angel) came to me and it was revealed to me that this night (Laylat al-Qadr) is in the last ten days. So whoever of you wishes to make itikaf, let him make itikaf." So the people made itikaf with him (peace be upon him). He (peace be upon him) said, "I was shown that it is among the odd nights, and that on its morning I would be prostrating in water and mud." Then when the morning of the twenty-first night came—and that night he (peace be upon him) had prayed until morning—it rained and the mosque leaked, and I saw the mud and water. Then when he (peace be upon him) came out after praying the morning prayer, there was the mark of mud and water on his forehead and the tip of his nose, and that was the twenty-first night of the last ten days of Ramadan.
اردو ترجمہ
سیدنا ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے رمضان کے پہلے عشرہ میں اعتکاف کیا پھر درمیانی عشرہ میں ایک ترکی خیمہ میں کہ جس کے دروازے پر چٹائی لٹکی ہوئی تھی، اعتکاف کیا۔ (تیسرے عشرہ کے شروع میں) (سیدنا ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ) بیان کرتے ہیں کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے اپنے دست مبارک سے چٹائی کو پکڑ کر خیمے کے ایک کونے میں کر دیا اور اپنا سر باہر نکال کر لوگوں سے مخاطب ہوئے تو لوگ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے قریب ہو گئے تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: میں نے رات (لیلۃالقدر) کی تلاش میں پہلے عشرہ میں اعتکاف کیا، پھر درمیانی عشرہ میں اعتکاف کیا، پھر میرے پاس کوئی (فرشتہ) آیا اور میری طرف یہ وحی کی گئی کہ (لیلۃالقدر کی) یہ رات آخری عشرہ میں ہے۔ تم میں سے جو شخص اعتکاف کرنا چاہے تو وہ اعتکاف کرے۔ چنانچہ لوگوں نے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ساتھ اعتکاف کیا۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمفرمایا کہ مجھے دکھایا گیا کہ وہ طاق راتوں میں ہے اور میں اس کی صبح کو پانی اور مٹی میں سجدہ کر رہا ہوں۔ پھر جب آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو اکیسویں شب کی صبح ہوئی اور اس رات آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمصبح تک نماز پڑھتے رہے۔ اور بارش ہوئی تو مسجد ٹپکی اور میں نے مٹی اور پانی کو دیکھا۔ پھر جب آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمصبح کی نماز پڑھ کر نکلے تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی پیشانی اور ناک کی چوٹی پر مٹی اور پانی کا نشان تھا اور وہ آخری عشرہ رمضان کی اکیسویں رات تھی۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 632]
