انگریزی ترجمہ
Narrated Rubayyi bint Muawwidh ibn Afra (may Allah be pleased with her): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) sent word on the morning of Ashura to the villages of the Ansar around Madinah, that whoever had fasted should complete his fast, and whoever had eaten in the morning should complete the rest of the day (that is, now he should not eat anything more). After that, we used to fast, and we would also, if Allah willed, make our young children fast. We would go to the mosque and make dolls of cotton for the children, and when any child would cry for bread, we would give it that (doll) to play with, until the time of breaking the fast came.
اردو ترجمہ
سیدہ ربیع بنت معوذ بن عفراء رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے عاشورہ کی صبح کو مدینہ کے گرد انصار کی بستیوں میں حکم بھیجا کہ جس نے روزہ رکھا وہ اپنا روزہ پورا کرے اور جس نے صبح سے افطار کیا ہو وہ باقی دن (روزہ) پورا کرے (یعنی اب کچھ نہ کھائے)۔ پھر اس کے بعد ہم روزہ رکھا کرتے تھے اور اپنے چھوٹے بچوں کو بھی اللہ چاہتا روزہ رکھواتے تھے اور مسجد میں چلے جاتے اور بچوں کے لئے روئی کی گڑیاں بناتے تھے۔ پھر جب کوئی (بچہ) روٹی کے لئے رونے لگتا تھا تو اس کو وہی (گڑیا) کھیلنے کو دیدیتے تھے یہاں تک کہ افطار کا وقت آ جاتا تھا۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 615]
