Narrated Ya'la bin Umayyah (may Allah be pleased with him): I said to Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him): Allah says, "There is no sin upon you if you shorten the prayer if you fear that the disbelievers will harm you" (al-Nisa: 101), yet now the people are secure (so is shortening now permissible or not?). He said: I too was amazed at this, just as you are amazed, so I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) about it. He said: This is a charity that Allah has given you, so accept His charity (that is, shorten the prayer during travel even without fear). [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim/Hadith: 433]
اردو ترجمہ
سیدنا یعلیٰ بن امیہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہمیں نے سیدنا عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ عنہ سے کہا کہ اللہ تعالیٰ تو فرماتا ہے کہ”کچھ گناہ نہیں اگر تم قصر کرو نماز میں اگر تمہیں خوف ہو کہ کافر لوگ تمہیں ستائیں گے“(النساء: 101) اور اب تو لوگ امن میں ہو گئے (یعنی اب قصر جائز ہے یا نہیں؟) تو انہوں نے کہا کہ مجھے بھی یہی تعجب ہوا، جیسے تمہیں تعجب ہوا تو میں نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے اس بات کو پوچھا۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ یہ اللہ نے تمہیں صدقہ دیا ہے تو اس کا صدقہ قبول کرو (یعنی بغیر خوف کے بھی سفر میں قصر کرو)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 433]
