Narrated Abu al-Darda (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) stood up (for prayer) and we heard him (peace be upon him) saying, "I seek Allah's protection from you." Then he said, "I curse you with the curse of Allah" (he said it three times), and he stretched out his hand as though taking something. When he finished the prayer, we said, "O Messenger of Allah! Today we heard you say things in the prayer that we had never heard before, and we also saw that you stretched out your hand." He (peace be upon him) said, "The enemy of Allah, Iblis, came with a flame of fire to burn my face. I said three times, 'I seek Allah's protection from you.' Then I said, 'I curse you with the full curse of Allah, as Allah has cursed you.' He did not retreat any of the three times. Finally I intended to seize him. By Allah, were it not for the supplication of our brother Sulaiman (peace be upon him), he would have remained bound until morning and the children of Medina would have played with him."
اردو ترجمہ
سیدنا ابودرداء رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم(نماز کے لئے) کھڑے ہوئے تو ہم نے سنا کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکہتے تھے کہ”میں تجھ سے اللہ کی پناہ مانگتا ہوں“پھر فرمایا کہ”میں تجھ پر لعنت کرتا ہوں جیسی اللہ نے تجھ پر لعنت کی“(تین دفعہ فرمایا) اور اپنا ہاتھ یوں بڑھایا جیسے کوئی چیز لیتے ہیں۔ جب نماز سے فارغ ہوئے تو ہم نے عرض کیا کہ یا رسول اللہ! آج ہم نے نماز میں آپ کو وہ باتیں کرتے سنا جو پہلے کبھی نہیں سنی تھیں اور ہم نے یہ بھی دیکھا کہ آپ نے اپنا ہاتھ بڑھایا۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ اللہ کا دشمن ابلیس میرا منہ جلانے کے لئے انگارے کا ایک شعلہ لے کر آیا۔ میں نے تین بار کہا کہ میں تجھ سے اللہ کی پناہ مانگتا ہوں۔ پھر میں نے کہا کہ میں تجھ پر لعنت کرتا ہوں جیسی اللہ نے تجھ پر لعنت کی پوری لعنت۔ وہ تینوں بار پیچھے نہ ہٹا، آخر میں نے چاہا کہ اس کو پکڑ لوں۔ اللہ کی قسم اگر ہمارے بھائی سلیمان علیہ السلام کی دعا نہ ہوتی تو وہ صبح تک بندھا رہتا اور مدینے کے بچے اس سے کھیلتے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 308]
