Narrated Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) (during his final illness) raised the curtain while the people were standing in rows behind Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him). He (peace be upon him) said, "O people! Now nothing of the glad tidings of prophethood remains (because prophethood has ended with me) except a good dream which a Muslim sees or which is shown to him. And know that I have been forbidden to recite the Quran while bowing or prostrating. In bowing, glorify your Lord, and in prostration strive in supplication, for it is more fitting and likely that your supplication will be answered."
اردو ترجمہ
سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے (مرض الموت میں) پردہ اٹھایا اور لوگ سیدنا ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ عنہ کے پیچھے صف باندھے کھڑے ہوئے تھے۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ اے لوگو! اب نبوت کی خوشخبری دینے والی چیزوں میں کچھ نہیں رہا (کیونکہ مجھ پر نبوت کا خاتمہ ہو گیا) مگر نیک خواب جس کو مسلمان دیکھے یا اسے دکھایا جائے اور تمہیں معلوم رہے کہ مجھے رکوع اور سجدہ میں قرآن پڑھنے سے منع کیا گیا ہے رکوع میں تو اپنے رب کی بڑائی بیان کرو اور سجدہ کے اندر دعا میں کوشش کرو، یہ زیادہ لائق اور ممکن ہے کہ تمہاری دعا قبول ہو گی۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 295]
