Narrated Anas (may Allah be pleased with him): I prayed with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and with Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) and with Umar al-Faruq (may Allah be pleased with him) and with Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him), but I did not hear any one of them reciting Bismillah ar-Rahman ar-Rahim aloud in the prayer.

سیدنا انس رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہمیں نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماور سیدنا ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ عنہ اور سیدنا عمر فاروق رضی اللہ عنہ اور سیدنا عثمان رضی اللہ عنہ کے ساتھ نماز پڑھی، لیکن ان میں سے کسی ایک کو بھی نماز میں بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم (جہر سے) پڑھتے ہوئے نہیں سنا۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 279]
