It is narrated from Nawwas ibn Sam'an (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) mentioned the Dajjal one morning, sometimes belittling him and sometimes exalting him (that is, sometimes making light of him and sometimes calling his trial great, or sometimes speaking in a loud voice and sometimes in a low voice), so that we thought the Dajjal was in the grove of date palms. Then when we came to him (peace be upon him) in the evening, he (peace be upon him) perceived its effect on our faces (that is, fear and dread). He (peace be upon him) said, "What is the matter with you?" We said, "O Messenger of Allah! You mentioned the Dajjal, and you belittled him and exalted him, so that we came to think that the Dajjal is present among these date palms (that is, that his coming is very near)." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "I fear other things for you more than the Dajjal (that is, trials and mutual fighting). If the Dajjal comes forth while I am among you, I will contend with him on your behalf and protect you from his evil. And if he comes forth while I am not among you, then each man (Muslim) will contend with him on his own behalf, and Allah the Exalted will be my successor and guardian over every Muslim. Indeed the Dajjal will be a youth with tightly curled hair, his eye protruding; it is as though I liken him to 'Abd al-'Uzza ibn Qatan. So whoever of you encounters the Dajjal, let him recite over him the opening verses of Surat al-Kahf. Surely he will come forth by the road between Syria and Iraq, and he will spread corruption on his right and his left. O servants of Allah! Remain firm upon faith." The Companions said, "O Messenger of Allah! How long will he remain on the earth?" He (peace be upon him) said, "For forty days: one day of them will be like a year, one day like a month, one day like a week, and the rest of the days will be like these days of yours (so by the reckoning of our days the Dajjal will remain one year, two months, and fourteen days)." The Companions said, "O Messenger of Allah! On the day that is like a year, will one day's prayers suffice us?" He (peace be upon him) said, "No, you must estimate for it (the prayers of a year)." The Companions said, "O Messenger of Allah! What will his speed be on the earth?" He (peace be upon him) said, "Like a cloud driven from behind by the wind. He will come to a people and call them, and they will believe in him and obey him. So he will command the sky and it will rain, and command the earth and it will grow grass and grain. In the evening their livestock will return with their humps taller than before, their udders full, and their flanks distended (that is, having grown very fat). Then the Dajjal will come to another people and call them, but they will not accept his word. So he will turn away from them, and drought and dryness will befall them. Nothing of their wealth will remain in their hands. And he will pass by a ruined land and say to it, 'O land! Bring forth your treasures,' and the wealth and treasures of that place will come out and gather around him like bees swarming around their queen. Then the Dajjal will summon a young man and strike him with a sword, cutting him into two pieces as a target is cleanly split; then he will call him back to life, and that young man will come forward laughing with a radiant face. So the Dajjal will be in this state when suddenly Allah the Exalted will send Jesus, son of Mary (upon them both be peace). Jesus (peace be upon him) will descend in the city of Damascus, on the eastern side, beside a white minaret, wearing two garments dyed yellow, resting his two hands on the wings of two angels. When Jesus (peace be upon him) lowers his head, sweat will drip, and when he raises his head, drops will flow like pearls. Every disbeliever whom the fragrance of Jesus's breath reaches will die, and the effect of his breath will reach as far as his sight reaches. Then Jesus (peace be upon him) will pursue the Dajjal until he finds him at Bab Ludd (a place near Ludd, in Syria) and kills him there. Then those people whom Allah the Exalted has protected from the evil of the Dajjal will come to Jesus (peace be upon him). So with compassion he will wipe their faces and inform them of the ranks that are kept for them in Paradise. While they are in this state, Allah the Exalted will reveal to Jesus (peace be upon him): 'I have brought forth such servants of Mine that no one has the power to fight them, so lead My Muslim servants for refuge to (Mount) Tur.' And Allah the Exalted will send Gog and Magog, and they will descend from every height. Their foremost people will pass by the lake of Tabariyyah and drink all its water. Then when their last people arrive there, they will say, 'There was once water in this lake.' (Then they will proceed until they reach that mountain where the trees are abundant, that is, the mountain of Jerusalem, and they will say, 'We have already killed the people of the earth; now come, let us kill the people of the heaven,' and they will shoot their arrows toward the sky. Allah the Exalted will return their arrows to them filled with blood, and they will think that the people of the heaven too have been killed -- this passage is not in this narration but has been taken from the narration following it.) And Allah's prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) and his companions will be besieged, until the head of an ox will be more valuable to them than a hundred gold coins of yours today (that is, there will be extreme scarcity of food). Then Allah's prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) and his companions will pray, so Allah the Exalted will send a plague upon the people of Gog and Magog, and worms will breed in their necks, so that by morning they will all be dead as one man dies. Then Allah's messenger Jesus (peace be upon him) and his companions will come down to the earth, and they will not find on the earth a space of a handspan free of their stench and filth (that is, their rotting corpses will lie over all the earth). Then Allah's messenger Jesus (peace be upon him) and his companions will pray to Allah, so Allah the Exalted will send birds like the necks of great camels, which will carry them away and cast them wherever Allah commands. Then Allah the Exalted will send such rain that the earth will be commanded, 'Bring forth your fruit and restore your blessing.' And on that day a group will eat from a single pomegranate and shelter in the shade of its rind. And there will be blessing in the milk, so that a milch camel will suffice a large group of men, a milch cow will suffice the people of a whole clan, and a milch goat will suffice a whole household. So the people will be in this state when suddenly Allah the Exalted will send a pure wind which will strike them beneath their armpits and take effect, so it will take the soul of every believer and Muslim, and there will remain the evil, wicked people, who will copulate with women openly like donkeys, and upon them the Hour will be established."
اردو ترجمہ
نواس بن سمعان رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے ایک صبح کو دجال کا ذکر کیا تو کبھی اس کو گھٹایا اور کبھی بڑھایا (یعنی کبھی اس کی تحقیر کی اور کبھی اس کے فتنہ کو بڑا کہا یا کبھی بلند آواز سے گفتگو کی اور کبھی پست آواز سے)، یہاں تک کہ ہم نے گمان کیا کہ دجال کھجور کے درختوں کے جھنڈ میں ہے۔ پھر جب شام کے وقت ہم آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس گئے تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے ہمارے چہروں پر اس کا اثر معلوم کیا (یعنی ڈر اور خوف)۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ تمہارا کیا حال ہے؟ ہم نے عرض کیا کہ یا رسول اللہ! آپ نے دجال کا ذکر کیا اور اس کو گھٹایا اور بڑھایا، یہاں تک کہ ہمیں گمان ہو گیا کہ دجال ان کھجور کے درختوں میں موجود ہے (یعنی اس کا آنا بہت قریب ہے)۔ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ مجھے دجال کے سوا اور باتوں کا تم پر خوف زیادہ ہے (یعنی فتنوں کا اور آپس کی لڑائیوں کا)، اگر دجال نکلا اور میں تم لوگوں میں موجود ہوا تو تم سے پہلے میں اس کا مقابل ہوں گا (اس سے لڑائی کروں گا) اور تمہیں اس کے شر سے بچاؤں گا اور اگر وہ نکلا اور میں تم لوگوں میں موجود نہ ہوا تو ہر مرد (مسلمان) اپنی طرف سے اس سے مقابلہ کرے گا اور اللہ تعالیٰ ہر مسلمان پر میرا خلیفہ اور نگہبان ہو گا۔ البتہ دجال تو جوان، گھونگھریالے بالوں والا ہے، اس کی آنکھ ابھری ہوئی ہے گویا کہ میں اس کی مشابہت عبدالعزیٰ بن قطن کے ساتھ دیتا ہوں۔ پس تم میں سے جو شخص دجال کو پائے، اس کو چاہئے کہ سورۃ الکہف کی شروع کی آیتیں اس پر پڑھے۔ یقیناً وہ شام اور عراق کے درمیان کی راہ سے نکلے گا تو اپنے دائیں اور بائیں ہاتھ فساد پھیلائے گا۔ اے اللہ کے بندو! ایمان پر قائم رہنا۔ صحابہ بولے کہ یا رسول اللہ! وہ زمین پر کتنی مدت رہے گا؟ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ چالیس دن تک، ان میں سے ایک دن ایک سال کے برابر ہو گا، ایک دن ایک مہینے کے برابر، ایک دن ایک ہفتہ کے برابر اور باقی دن جیسے یہ تمہارے دن ہیں (تو ہمارے دنوں کے حساب سے دجال ایک برس دو مہینے اور چودہ دن تک رہے گا)۔ صحابہ نے عرض کیا کہ یا رسول اللہ! جو دن سال بھر کے برابر ہو گا، اس دن ہمیں ایک ہی دن کی نمازیں کفایت کرے گی؟ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ نہیں، تم اس دن میں (سال کی نمازوں کا)۔ صحابہ نے عرض کیا کہ یا رسول اللہ! اس کی چال زمین میں کیسی ہو گی؟ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ اس بادل کی طرح جس کو ہوا پیچھے سے اڑاتی ہے۔ پس وہ ایک قوم کے پاس آئے گا اور ان کو دعوت دے گا، وہ اس پر ایمان لائیں گے اور اس کی بات مانیں گے۔ پس وہ آسمان کو حکم کرے گا تو وہ پانی برسائے گا اور زمین کو حکم کرے گا تو وہ گھاس اور اناج اگا دے گی۔ شام کو ان کے جانور آئیں گے تو ان کے کوہان پہلے سے زیادہ لمبے ہوں گے، تھن کشادہ ہوں گے اور کوکھیں تنی ہوئی (یعنی خوب موٹی ہو کر)۔ پھر دجال دوسری قوم کے پاس آئے گا۔ ان کو بھی دعوت دے گا، لیکن وہ اس کی بات کو نہ مانیں گے۔ تو ان کی طرف سے ہٹ جائے گا اور ان پر قحط سالی اور خشکی ہو گی۔ ان کے ہاتھوں میں ان کے مالوں سے کچھ نہ رہے گا۔ اور دجال ویران زمین پر نکلے گا تو اس سے کہے گا کہ اے زمین! اپنے خزانے نکال، تو وہاں کے مال اور خزانے نکل کر اس کے پاس ایسے جمع ہو جائیں گے جیسے شہد کی مکھیاں سردار مکھی کے گرد ہجوم کرتی ہیں۔ پھر دجال ایک جوان مرد کو بلائے گا اور اس کو تلوار مار کر دو ٹکڑے کر ڈالے گا جیسے نشانہ دو ٹوک ہو جاتا ہے، پھر اس کو زندہ کر کے پکارے گا، پس وہ جوان دمکتے ہوئے چہرے کے ساتھ ہنستا ہوا سامنے آئے گا۔ سو دجال اسی حال میں ہو گا کہ اچانک اللہ تعالیٰ سیدنا عیسیٰ بن مریم علیہما السلام کو بھیجے گا۔ عیسیٰ علیہ السلام دمشق کے شہر میں مشرق کی طرف سفید مینار کے پاس اتریں گے، وہ زرد رنگ کا جوڑا پہنے ہوئے ہوں گے اور اپنے دونوں ہاتھ دو فرشتوں کے بازوؤں پر رکھے ہوئے ہوں گے۔ جب عیسیٰ علیہ السلام اپنا سر جھکائیں گے تو پسینہ ٹپکے گا اور جب اپنا سر اٹھائیں گے تو موتی کی طرح بوندیں بہیں گی۔ جس کافر تک عیسیٰ علیہ السلام کے دم کی خوشبو پہنچے گی، وہ مر جائے گا اور ان کے دم کا اثر وہاں تک پہنچے گا جہاں تک ان کی نظر پہنچے گی۔ پھر عیسیٰ علیہ السلام دجال کو تلاش کریں گے یہاں تک کہ اس کو باب لد (نامی پہاڑ جو کہ شام میں ہے) پر موجود پا کر اس کو قتل کر دیں گے۔ پھر عیسیٰ علیہ السلام کے پاس وہ لوگ آئیں گے جن کو اللہ تعالیٰ نے دجال کے شر سے بچایا ہو گا۔ پس وہ شفقت سے ان کے چہروں کو سہلائیں گے اور ان کو ان درجوں کی خبر دیں گے جو جنت میں ان کے رکھے ہیں۔ وہ اسی حال میں ہوں گے کہ اللہ تعالیٰ عیسیٰ علیہ السلام پر وحی بھیجے گا کہ میں نے اپنے ایسے بندے نکالے ہیں کہ کسی کو ان سے لڑنے کی طاقت نہیں، تم میرے مسلمان بندوں کو طور (پہاڑ) کی طرف پناہ میں لے جاؤ اور اللہ تعالیٰ یاجوج اور ماجوج کو بھیجے گا اور وہ ہر ایک اونچان سے نکل پڑیں گے۔ ان کے پہلے لوگ طبرستان کے دریا پر گزریں گے اور اس کا سارا پانی پی لیں گے۔ پھر ان میں سے پچھلے لوگ جب وہاں آئیں گے تو کہیں گے کہ کبھی اس دریا میں پانی بھی تھا۔ (پھر چلیں گے یہاں تک کہ اس پہاڑ تک پہنچیں گے جہاں درختوں کی کثرت ہے یعنی بیت المقدس کا پہاڑ تو وہ کہیں گے کہ البتہ ہم زمین والوں کو تو قتل کر چکے، اب آؤ آسمان والوں کو قتل کریں تو اپنے تیر آسمان کی طرف چلائیں گے۔ اللہ تعالیٰ ان تیروں کو خون میں بھر کر لوٹا دے گا، وہ یہ سمجھیں گے کہ آسمان کے لوگ بھی مارے گئے یہ مضمون اس روایت میں نہیں ہے بلکہ اس کے بعد کی روایت سے لیا گیا ہے) اور اللہ تعالیٰ کے پیغمبر عیسیٰ علیہ السلام اور ان کے اصحاب بند رہیں گے یہاں تک کہ ان کے نزدیک بیل کا سر تمہاری آج کی سو اشرفی سے افضل ہو گا (یعنی کھانے کی نہایت تنگی ہو گی)۔ پھر اللہ کے پیغمبر عیسیٰ علیہ السلام اور ان کے ساتھی دعا کریں گے، پس اللہ تعالیٰ یاجوج اور ماجوج کے لوگوں پر عذاب بھیجے گا تو ان کی گردنوں میں کیڑا پیدا ہو گا تو صبح تک سب مر جائیں گے جیسے ایک آدمی مرتا ہے۔ پھر اللہ کے رسول عیسیٰ علیہ السلام اور ان کے ساتھی زمین پر اتریں گے تو زمین میں ایک بالشت برابر جگہ ان کی سڑاند اور گندگی سے خالی نہ پائیں گے (یعنی تمام زمین پر ان کی سڑی ہوئی لاشیں پڑی ہوں گی) پھر اللہ کے رسول عیسیٰ علیہ السلام اور ان کے ساتھی اللہ سے دعا کریں گے تو اللہ تعالیٰ بڑے اونٹوں کی گردن کے برابر پرندے بھیجے گا، وہ ان کو اٹھا لے جائیں گے اور وہاں پھینک دیں گے جہاں اللہ کا حکم ہو گا، پھر اللہ تعالیٰ ایسا پانی برسائے گا کہ پھر زمین کو حکم ہو گا کہ اپنے پھل جما اور اپنی برکت کو پھیر دے اور اس دن ایک انار کو ایک گروہ کھائے گا اور اس کے چھلکے کو بنگلہ سا بنا کر اس کے سایہ میں بیٹھیں گے اور دودھ میں برکت ہو گی، یہاں تک کہ دودھ والی اونٹنی آدمیوں کے بڑے گروہ کو کفایت کرے گی اور دودھ والی گائے ایک برادری کے لوگوں کو کفایت کرے گی اور دودھ والی بکری ایک پورے خاندان کو کفایت کرے گی۔ پس لوگ اسی حالت میں ہوں گے کہ یکایک اللہ تعالیٰ ایک پاک ہوا بھیجے گا، وہ ان کی بغلوں کے نیچے لگے گی اور اثر کر جائے گی تو ہر مومن اور مسلم کی روح کو قبض کرے گی اور برے بدذات لوگ باقی رہ جائیں گے، گدھوں کی طرح سرعام عورتوں سے جماع کریں گے اور ان پر قیامت قائم ہو گی۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 2048]
