Sayyiduna al-Harith bin Suwayd said: Sayyiduna 'Abdullah (bin Mas'ud) (may Allah be pleased with him) was ill, so I went to visit him. He narrated to me two hadiths, one from himself and one from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) saying: "Indeed, Allah is more pleased with the repentance of His believing servant than one of you who is on his mount, with his food and drink upon it, in a desolate, deadly wilderness (where there is neither shade nor water), and he goes to sleep (to rest). When he wakes, his mount has gone off somewhere. He searches for it until he is overcome by severe thirst. Then (in despair) he says, 'Let me return to where I was and die in my sleep' (for he sees no means of rescue). Then he places his head on his arm and lies down to die. Then when he wakes, his mount is beside him with his provisions upon it, both food and water. Allah is more pleased with the repentance of the believing servant than this man is with finding his camel and provisions."
اردو ترجمہ
سیدنا حارث بن سوید کہتے ہیں کہسیدنا عبداللہ (بن مسعود) رضی اللہ عنہ بیمار تھے تو میں ان کی عیادت کو ان کے پاس گیا۔ انہوں نے مجھ سے دو حدیثیں بیان کیں ایک اپنی طرف سے اور ایک رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی طرف سے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ میں نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے سنا، آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمفرماتے تھے کہ البتہ اللہ تعالیٰ اپنے مومن بندہ کی توبہ سے اس سے زیادہ خوش ہوتا ہے جیسے کوئی اپنی سواری پر کہ جس پر اس کے کھانے پینے کی اشیاء بھی ہوں، ایک ہلاکت خیز سنسان جنگل میں جائے (جہاں نہ سایہ ہو نہ پانی ہو) اور وہ (آرام کے لئے) سو جائے۔ جب وہ جاگے تو اس کی سواری کہیں جا چکی ہو۔ پھر اس کو ڈھونڈے، یہاں تک کہ اسے سخت پیاس لگ جائے۔ پھر (مایوس ہو کر) کہے کہ میں لوٹ جاؤں جہاں تھا اور سوتے سوتے مر جاؤں۔ (کیونکہ بچاؤ کی کوئی صورت نظر نہیں آتی) پھر اپنا سر اپنے بازو پر رکھے اور مرنے کے لئے لیٹ جائے۔ پھر جو جاگے تو اپنی سواری اپنے پاس پائے اور اس پر اس کا توشہ ہو کھانا بھی اور پانی بھی۔ اللہ تعالیٰ کو مومن بندے کی توبہ سے اس سے کہیں زیادہ خوشی ہوتی ہے جتنی اس شخص کو اپنے اونٹ اور توشہ کے ملنے سے ہوتی ہے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1917]
