Narrated Umm Kulthum bint Uqbah ibn Abi Mu'ayt (may Allah be pleased with her) — and she was among the first women emigrants who pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah — that she heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) saying, "He is not a liar who reconciles between people and speaks a good word with the intention of bringing about good." Ibn Shihab said, "I have not heard that any lie was permitted except on three occasions: in war, for reconciling between people, and (the words of) a husband to his wife and a wife to her husband (for cordiality)." And in one narration she says, "I have not heard that any lie was permitted except on three occasions (that is, in war, for reconciling between people, and [the words of] a husband to his wife and a wife to her husband) (for cordiality)."
اردو ترجمہ
سیدہ ام کلثوم بنت عقبہ بن ابی معیط رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت ہےاور وہ مہاجرات اول میں سے تھیں جنہوں نے رسول اللہ اسے بیعت کی تھی کہ انہوں نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے سنا، آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمفرما رہے تھے کہ جھوٹا وہ نہیں جو لوگوں میں صلح کرائے اور بہتر بات بہتری کی نیت سے کہے۔ ابن شہاب نے کہا کہ میں نے نہیں سنا کہ کسی جھوٹ میں رخصت دی گئی ہو مگر تین موقعوں پر۔ ایک تو لڑائی میں، دوسرے لوگوں میں صلح کرانے کے لئے اور تیسرے خاوند کو بیوی سے اور بیوی کو خاوند سے (خوش طبعی کے لئے)۔ اور ایک روایت میں کہتی ہیں کہ میں نے نہیں سنا کہ کسی جھوٹ میں رخصت دی گئی ہو مگر تین موقعوں پر۔ (یعنی لڑائی میں، دوسرے لوگوں میں صلح کرانے کے لئے اور تیسرے خاوند کو بیوی سے اور بیوی کو خاوند سے) (خوش طبعی کے لئے)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1810]
