انگریزی ترجمہ
Masruq said: We were with Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) when we mentioned Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with them both). He said: You have mentioned a man whom I have loved (ever since) I heard a hadith from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). I heard him (peace be upon him) saying: Learn the Qur'an from four men: from the son of Umm Abd (that is, Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud) — and he (peace be upon him) began with him — and from Ubayy bin Ka'b, and from Salim the freed slave of Abu Hudhayfa, and from Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with them).
اردو ترجمہ
مسروق کہتے ہیں کہہم سیدنا عبداللہ بن عمرو رضی اللہ عنہما کے پاس تھے کہ ہم نے سیدنا عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہما کا ذکر کیا تو انہوں نے کہا کہ تم نے ایک ایسے شخص کا ذکر کیا جس سے میں (اس وقت سے) محبت کرتا ہوں جب سے میں نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے ایک حدیث سنی ہے۔ میں نے سنا آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمفرماتے تھے کہ تم قرآن چار آدمیوں سے سیکھو۔ ایک ام عبد کے بیٹے (یعنی سیدنا عبداللہ بن مسعود) سے اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے ان ہی سے شروع کیا اور ابی بن کعب سے اور سالم مولیٰ ابوحذیفہ سے اور معاذ بن جبل رضی اللہ عنہما سے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1696]
