Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: During the blessed life of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), when anyone saw a dream, he would relate it to him (peace be upon him). I too wished that I might see some dream and relate it to him (peace be upon him). I was a young, unmarried boy, and I used to sleep in the mosque in the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). I saw in a dream as though two angels seized me and took me toward Hell. I looked, and it was deep like a winding well, and over it were two beams like those over a well. In it were some people whom I recognized. I began to say: I seek refuge in Allah from Hell, I seek refuge in Allah from Hell — three times. Then another angel met me and said: You have nothing to fear. I related this dream to the Mother of the Believers, Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her). She related it to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). He (peace be upon him) said: Abdullah is a good man, if he would pray tahajjud at night. Salim said: After that, Abdullah would sleep only a small part of the night (and pray tahajjud).
اردو ترجمہ
سیدنا عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی حیات مبارک میں جب کوئی شخص خواب دیکھتا تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے بیان کرتا۔ مجھے بھی آرزو تھی کہ میں بھی کوئی خواب دیکھوں اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے بیان کروں اور میں جوان، غیر شادی شدہ لڑکا تھا، اور رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے زمانے میں مسجد میں سویا کرتا تھا۔ میں نے خواب میں دیکھا کہ جیسے دو فرشتوں نے مجھے پکڑا اور جہنم کی طرف لے گئے دیکھا تو وہ پیچ در پیچ کنوئیں کی طرح گہری ہے اور اس پر دو لکڑیاں ہیں جیسے کنوئیں پر ہوتی ہیں۔ اس میں کچھ لوگ ہیں جن کو میں نے پہچانا۔ میں نے کہنا شروع کیا کہ میں جہنم سے اللہ کی پناہ مانگتا ہوں میں جہنم سے اللہ کی پناہ مانگتا ہوں، تین دفعہ۔ پھر ایک اور فرشتہ ملا اور وہ بولا کہ تجھے کچھ خوف نہیں ہے۔ یہ خواب میں نے ام المؤمنین حفصہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے بیان کیا۔ پس انہوں نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے بیان کیا۔ پس آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ عبداللہ اچھا آدمی ہے اگر رات کو تہجد پڑھا کرے۔ سالم نے کہا کہ عبداللہ اس کے بعد رات کا کچھ حصہ ہی سوتے تھے (اور تہجد پڑھا کرتے)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1690]
