Narrated Aisha the Truthful, Mother of the Believers (may Allah be pleased with her): One night (while returning from some battle) on the road to Madinah, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) woke up and could not sleep, so he said, "Would that some righteous man of my Companions would guard me tonight." Aisha the Truthful, Mother of the Believers (may Allah be pleased with her) said, "Meanwhile we heard the sound of weapons, so the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, 'Who is it?' A voice came, 'O Messenger of Allah, it is Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas.' The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, 'Why have you come?' He said, 'I felt fear in my heart for the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), so I came to guard you.' So the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) prayed for him, and then he went to sleep." اردو ترجمہ
ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہایک رات (کسی جنگ سے واپس آتے ہوئے) مدینہ کے راستے میں رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی آنکھ کھل گئی اور نیند اچاٹ ہو گئی، تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ کاش میرے اصحاب میں سے کوئی نیک بخت رات بھر میری حفاظت کرے۔ ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ اتنے میں ہمیں ہتھیاروں کی آواز معلوم ہوئی تو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ کون ہے؟ آواز آئی کہ یا رسول اللہ! سعد بن ابی وقاص ہوں۔ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ تم کیوں آئے؟ وہ بولے کہ مجھے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمپر اپنے نفس میں ڈر ہوا تو میں آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی حفاظت کرنے کو آیا ہوں۔ پس رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے ان کے لئے دعا کی اور پھر سو رہے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1647]
