Miqdad (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I and my two companions came, and from (the hardship of) hunger and the like the strength of our eyes and ears had gone. We would present ourselves to the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), but none would accept us. At last we came to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and he (peace be upon him) took us to his house. There were three goats there. He (peace be upon him) said, "Milk them; we shall all drink." So we would milk them, and each of us would drink his share, and we would set aside the share of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). He (peace be upon him) would come at night and greet with such a voice as would not wake the sleeper but would be heard by the wakeful. Then he (peace be upon him) would come to the mosque, pray, then come to his milk and drink it. One night, after I had drunk my share, Satan incited me. Satan said, "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) goes to the Ansar, and they give him gifts, and whatever he (peace be upon him) needs, he gets; what need has he (peace be upon him) of this one gulp of milk?" At last I came and drank that milk. When the milk went into my belly and I became certain that no more milk would come, at that time Satan made me feel remorse and said, "Woe to you! What have you done? You have drunk the share of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him); now he (peace be upon him) will come and not find the milk and will invoke against you, and your world and Hereafter will both be ruined." I was wearing a sheet; when I pulled it over my feet, my head became uncovered, and when I covered my head, my feet became uncovered, and sleep would not come to me, while my companions had slept and had not done what I had done. At last the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) came and greeted as usual, then came to the mosque and prayed, and after that came to the milk, opened the vessel, and there was nothing in it. He (peace be upon him) raised his head toward the sky. I thought that now he (peace be upon him) would invoke against me and I would be ruined. He (peace be upon him) said, "O Allah! Feed him who feeds me, and give drink to him who gives me drink." Hearing this, I tied my sheet firmly, took a knife, and went toward the goats, so that I might slaughter the fattest of them for the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). I looked, and its udder was full of milk. Then I looked, and the udders of the other goats too were full of milk. I took a vessel of his (peace be upon him) household in which they did not milk (that is, in which they had no wish to milk). In it I milked, until froth rose to the top (so much milk came out), and I brought it to him (peace be upon him). He (peace be upon him) said, "Did you drink your share of the milk tonight or not?" I submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! Drink the milk." He (peace be upon him) drank and gave it to me, so I submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! Drink more." He (peace be upon him) drank more. Then he gave it to me, and when I became certain that he (peace be upon him) was satisfied and that I had received his (peace be upon him) supplication, then I laughed until, out of joy, I fell to the ground. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "O Miqdad! Have you done some evil thing? What is it?" I submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! My condition was such, and I committed such a fault." He (peace be upon him) said, "This milk (which came against custom) was a mercy from Allah. Why did you not tell me before? We would have awakened our two companions too, so that they might drink this milk as well." سیدنا مقداد رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہمیں اور میرے دونوں ساتھی آئے اور (فاقہ وغیرہ کی) تکلیف سے ہماری آنکھوں اور کانوں کی قوت جاتی رہی تھی۔ ہم اپنے آپ کو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے اصحاب پر پیش کرتے تھے لیکن کوئی ہمیں قبول نہ کرتا تھا۔ آخر ہم رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس آئے تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمہمیں اپنے گھر لے گئے۔ وہاں تین بکریاں تھیں۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ ان کا دودھ دوہو، ہم تم سب پئیں گے پھر ہم ان کا دودھ دوہا کرتے اور ہم میں سے ہر ایک اپنا حصہ پی لیتا اور رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکا حصہ رکھ چھوڑتے۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمرات کو تشریف لاتے اور ایسی آواز سے سلام کرتے جس سے سونے والا نہ جاگے اور جاگنے والا سن لے۔ پھر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلممسجد میں آتے، نماز پڑھتے، پھر اپنے دودھ کے پاس آتے اور اس کو پیتے۔ ایک رات جب میں اپنا حصہ پی چکا تھا کہ شیطان نے مجھے بھڑکایا۔ شیطان نے کہا کہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمتو انصار کے پاس جاتے ہیں، وہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو تحفے دیتے ہیں اور جو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو ضرورت ہے، مل جاتا ہے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو اس ایک گھونٹ دودھ کی کیا ضرورت ہو گی؟ آخر میں آیا اور وہ دودھ پی گیا۔ جب دودھ پیٹ میں سما گیا اور مجھے یقین ہو گیا کہ اب وہ دودھ نہیں ملنے کا تو اس وقت شیطان نے مجھے ندامت کی اور کہنے لگا کہ تیری خرابی ہو تو نے کیا کام کیا؟ تو نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکا حصہ پی لیا، اب آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمآئیں گے اور دودھ کو نہ پائیں گے تو تجھ پر بددعا کریں گے اور تیری دنیا اور آخرت دونوں تباہ ہوں گی۔ میں ایک چادر اوڑھے ہوئے تھا جب اس کو پاؤں پر ڈالتا تو سر کھل جاتا اور جب سر ڈھانپتا تو پاؤں کھل جاتے تھے اور مجھے نیند بھی نہ آ رہی تھی جبکہ میرے ساتھی سو گئے اور انہوں نے یہ کام نہیں کیا تھا جو میں نے کیا تھا۔ آخر رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمآئے اور معمول کے موافق سلام کیا، پھر مسجد میں آئے اور نماز پڑھی، اس کے بعد دودھ کے پاس آئے، برتن کھولا تو اس میں کچھ نہ تھا۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے اپنا سر آسمان کی طرف اٹھایا میں سمجھا کہ اب آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمبددعا کرتے ہیں اور میں تباہ ہوا۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ اے اللہ! کھلا اس کو جو مجھے کھلائے اور پلا اس کو جو مجھے پلائے۔ یہ سن کر میں نے اپنی چادر کو مضبوط باندھا، چھری لی اور بکریوں کی طرف چلا کہ جو ان میں سے موٹی ہو اس کو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے لئے ذبح کروں۔ دیکھا تو اس کے تھن میں دودھ بھرا ہوا ہے۔ پھر دیکھا تو اور بکریوں کے تھنوں میں بھی دودھ بھرا ہوا ہے۔ میں نے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے گھر والوں کا ایک برتن لیا جس میں وہ دودھ نہ دوہتے تھے (یعنی اس میں دوہنے کی خواہش نہیں کرتے تھے)۔ اس میں میں نے دودھ دوہا، یہاں تک کہ اوپر جھاگ آ گیا (اتنا بہت دودھ نکلا) اور میں اس کو لے کر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس آیا تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ تم نے اپنے حصے کا دودھ رات کو پیا یا نہیں؟ میں نے عرض کیا کہ یا رسول اللہ! آپ دودھ پیجئے۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے پی کر مجھے دیا تو میں نے عرض کیا کہ یا رسول اللہ! اور پیجئے۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے اور پیا۔ پھر مجھے دیا، جب مجھے معلوم ہو گیا کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسیر ہو گئے اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی دعا میں نے لے لی ہے، تب میں ہنسا، یہاں تک کہ خوشی کے مارے زمین پر گر گیا۔ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ اے مقداد! تو نے کوئی بری بات کی؟ وہ کیا ہے؟ میں نے عرض کیا کہ یا رسول اللہ! میرا حال ایسا ہوا اور میں نے ایسا قصور کیا۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ اس وقت کا دودھ (جو خلاف معمول اترا) اللہ کی رحمت تھی۔ تو نے مجھ سے پہلے ہی کیوں نہ کہا ہم اپنے دونوں ساتھیوں کو بھی جگا دیتے کہ وہ بھی یہ دودھ پیتے؟ میں نے عرض کیا کہ قسم اس کی جس نے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو سچا کلام دے کر بھیجا ہے کہ اب مجھے کوئی پرواہ نہیں جب آپ نے اللہ کی رحمت حاصل کر لی اور میں نے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ساتھ حاصل کی تو کوئی بھی اس کو حاصل کرے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1535]سیدنا مقداد رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہمیں اور میرے دونوں ساتھی آئے اور (فاقہ وغیرہ کی) تکلیف سے ہماری آنکھوں اور کانوں کی قوت جاتی رہی تھی۔ ہم اپنے آپ کو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے اصحاب پر پیش کرتے تھے لیکن کوئی ہمیں قبول نہ کرتا تھا۔ آخر ہم رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس آئے تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمہمیں اپنے گھر لے گئے۔ وہاں تین بکریاں تھیں۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ ان کا دودھ دوہو، ہم تم سب پئیں گے پھر ہم ان کا دودھ دوہا کرتے اور ہم میں سے ہر ایک اپنا حصہ پی لیتا اور رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکا حصہ رکھ چھوڑتے۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمرات کو تشریف لاتے اور ایسی آواز سے سلام کرتے جس سے سونے والا نہ جاگے اور جاگنے والا سن لے۔ پھر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلممسجد میں آتے، نماز پڑھتے، پھر اپنے دودھ کے پاس آتے اور اس کو پیتے۔ ایک رات جب میں اپنا حصہ پی چکا تھا کہ شیطان نے مجھے بھڑکایا۔ شیطان نے کہا کہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمتو انصار کے پاس جاتے ہیں، وہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو تحفے دیتے ہیں اور جو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو ضرورت ہے، مل جاتا ہے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو اس ایک گھونٹ دودھ کی کیا ضرورت ہو گی؟ آخر میں آیا اور وہ دودھ پی گیا۔ جب دودھ پیٹ میں سما گیا اور مجھے یقین ہو گیا کہ اب وہ دودھ نہیں ملنے کا تو اس وقت شیطان نے مجھے ندامت کی اور کہنے لگا کہ تیری خرابی ہو تو نے کیا کام کیا؟ تو نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکا حصہ پی لیا، اب آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمآئیں گے اور دودھ کو نہ پائیں گے تو تجھ پر بددعا کریں گے اور تیری دنیا اور آخرت دونوں تباہ ہوں گی۔ میں ایک چادر اوڑھے ہوئے تھا جب اس کو پاؤں پر ڈالتا تو سر کھل جاتا اور جب سر ڈھانپتا تو پاؤں کھل جاتے تھے اور مجھے نیند بھی نہ آ رہی تھی جبکہ میرے ساتھی سو گئے اور انہوں نے یہ کام نہیں کیا تھا جو میں نے کیا تھا۔ آخر رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمآئے اور معمول کے موافق سلام کیا، پھر مسجد میں آئے اور نماز پڑھی، اس کے بعد دودھ کے پاس آئے، برتن کھولا تو اس میں کچھ نہ تھا۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے اپنا سر آسمان کی طرف اٹھایا میں سمجھا کہ اب آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمبددعا کرتے ہیں اور میں تباہ ہوا۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ اے اللہ! کھلا اس کو جو مجھے کھلائے اور پلا اس کو جو مجھے پلائے۔ یہ سن کر میں نے اپنی چادر کو مضبوط باندھا، چھری لی اور بکریوں کی طرف چلا کہ جو ان میں سے موٹی ہو اس کو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے لئے ذبح کروں۔ دیکھا تو اس کے تھن میں دودھ بھرا ہوا ہے۔ پھر دیکھا تو اور بکریوں کے تھنوں میں بھی دودھ بھرا ہوا ہے۔ میں نے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے گھر والوں کا ایک برتن لیا جس میں وہ دودھ نہ دوہتے تھے (یعنی اس میں دوہنے کی خواہش نہیں کرتے تھے)۔ اس میں میں نے دودھ دوہا، یہاں تک کہ اوپر جھاگ آ گیا (اتنا بہت دودھ نکلا) اور میں اس کو لے کر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس آیا تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ تم نے اپنے حصے کا دودھ رات کو پیا یا نہیں؟ میں نے عرض کیا کہ یا رسول اللہ! آپ دودھ پیجئے۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے پی کر مجھے دیا تو میں نے عرض کیا کہ یا رسول اللہ! اور پیجئے۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے اور پیا۔ پھر مجھے دیا، جب مجھے معلوم ہو گیا کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسیر ہو گئے اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی دعا میں نے لے لی ہے، تب میں ہنسا، یہاں تک کہ خوشی کے مارے زمین پر گر گیا۔ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ اے مقداد! تو نے کوئی بری بات کی؟ وہ کیا ہے؟ میں نے عرض کیا کہ یا رسول اللہ! میرا حال ایسا ہوا اور میں نے ایسا قصور کیا۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ اس وقت کا دودھ (جو خلاف معمول اترا) اللہ کی رحمت تھی۔ تو نے مجھ سے پہلے ہی کیوں نہ کہا ہم اپنے دونوں ساتھیوں کو بھی جگا دیتے کہ وہ بھی یہ دودھ پیتے؟ میں نے عرض کیا کہ قسم اس کی جس نے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو سچا کلام دے کر بھیجا ہے کہ اب مجھے کوئی پرواہ نہیں جب آپ نے اللہ کی رحمت حاصل کر لی اور میں نے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ساتھ حاصل کی تو کوئی بھی اس کو حاصل کرے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1535]
