انگریزی ترجمہ
Abdullah ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with them) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) laid siege to the people of Ta'if but gained nothing from them (that is, they were not subdued). He (peace be upon him) said, "If Allah wills, we shall return." The Companions said, "Shall we return without victory?" The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "Very well, fight in the morning." They fought and were wounded, so he (peace be upon him) said, "We shall return tomorrow," and this pleased them. (At this) he (peace be upon him) smiled.
اردو ترجمہ
سیدنا عبداللہ بن عمرو رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے طائف والوں کا محاصرہ کیا اور ان سے کچھ حاصل نہیں کیا (یعنی وہ زیر نہ ہوئے تھے)۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ اگر اللہ نے چاہا تو ہم لوٹ جائیں گے۔ صحابہ نے کہا کہ ہم بغیر فتح کے لوٹ جائیں گے؟ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ اچھا صبح کو لڑو۔ وہ لڑے اور زخمی ہوئے تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ ہم کل لوٹ جائیں گے، یہ تو ان کو اچھا معلوم ہوا۔ (اس پر) آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمہنسے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1192]
