The Mother of the Believers, A'ishah the Truthful (may Allah be pleased with her), says: She submitted to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah! Has any day passed over you harder than the day of Uhud?" He (peace be upon him) said, "I have suffered much affliction from your people (that is, from the tribe of Quraysh), and the most severe grief I felt was on the day of Aqabah, when I presented myself to the son of Abd Yalil (that is, I asked him to become a Muslim) and he did not accept my word. I departed, and there was (very great) grief and sorrow upon my face. Then I did not come to my senses (that is, I kept walking in continuous grief) until I reached (the place) Qarn al-Tha'alib. I raised my head and looked, and a piece of cloud had cast its shade over me, and in it was Gabriel. He called to me and said, 'Allah, the Majestic and Glorious, has heard what your people said and the answer they gave you, and He has sent to you the angel of the mountains, so that you may command him whatever you wish.' Then that angel called to me and greeted me and said, 'O Muhammad (peace be upon him)! Allah the Exalted has heard the saying of your people, and I am the angel of the mountains, and your Lord has sent me to you so that I may carry out whatever you command. So say whatever you wish. If you order me, I will bring together the two mountains (that is, Abu Qubays and the mountain facing it, which are in Mecca) upon them (and crush them)?' The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, '(I do not wish this,) rather I hope that Allah the Exalted will bring forth from their offspring those who will worship Him alone and will not associate anything with Him.'" (Glory be to Allah, what compassion the Prophet (peace be upon him) had for his ummah! They gave him grief and he bore their harm.)
اردو ترجمہ
ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہانہوں نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے عرض کیا کہ یا رسول اللہ! آپ پر احد کے دن سے بھی زیادہ سخت دن کوئی گزرا ہے؟ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ میں نے تیری قوم سے بہت آفت اٹھائی ہے (یعنی قریش کی قوم سے) اور سب سے زیادہ سخت رنج مجھے عقبہ کے دن ہوا جب میں نے عبد یا لیل کے بیٹے پر اپنے آپ کو پیش کیا (یعنی اس سے مسلمان ہونے کو کہا) اس نے میرا کہنا نہ مانا۔ میں چلا اور میرے چہرے پر (بہت زیادہ) رنج و غم تھا۔ پھر مجھے ہوش نہ آیا (یعنی یکساں رنج میں چلتا گیا) مگر جب (مقام) قرن الثعالب میں پہنچا۔ میں نے اپنا سر اٹھایا اور دیکھا تو ایک بادل کے ٹکڑے نے مجھ پر سایہ کیا ہوا ہے اور اس میں جبرائیل تھے انہوں نے مجھے آواز دی اور کہا کہ اللہ جل جلالہ نے آپ کی قوم کا کہنا اور جو انہوں نے آپ کو جواب دیا سن لیا ہے۔ اور پہاڑوں کے فرشتے کو اس لئے آپ کے پاس بھیجا ہے کہ آپ جو چاہیں اس کو حکم کریں۔ پھر اس فرشتے نے مجھے پکارا اور سلام کیا اور کہا کہ اے محمد (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم)! اللہ تعالیٰ نے آپ کی قوم کا کہنا سن لیا ہے اور میں پہاڑوں کا فرشتہ ہوں اور مجھے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے رب نے آپ کے پاس اس لئے بھیجا ہے کہ آپ جو حکم دیں میں کروں۔ پھر آپ جو چاہیں کہیں؟ اگر آپ کہیں تو میں دونوں پہاڑ (یعنی ابوقبیس اور اس کے سامنے کا پہاڑ جو مکہ میں ہے) ان پر ملا دوں (اور ان کو کچل دوں)؟۔ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ (میں یہ نہیں چاہتا) بلکہ مجھے امید ہے کہ اللہ تعالیٰ ان کی اولاد میں سے ان لوگوں کو پیدا کرے گا جو خاص اسی کی عبادت کریں گے اور اس کے ساتھ کسی کو شریک نہ کریں گے (سبحان اللہ کیا شفقت تھی آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو اپنی امت پر۔ وہ رنج دیتے اور آپ ان کی تکلیف گوارا کرتے)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1166]
