Hadrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be well pleased with him) reported that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: 'Allah would gather people on the Day of Resurrection and they would be concerned about it — or (as Ibn 'Ubaid said:) they would get a divine inspiration about it — and would say: If we could seek intercession with our Lord, we may be relieved from this predicament of ours.' He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: 'They would come to Adam (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and say: You are Adam, the father of mankind. Allah created you with His own hand and breathed into you of His Spirit and commanded the angels to prostrate before you. Intercede for us with our Lord so that He may relieve us from this place. He will say: I am not fit for that, and he will remember his lapse and be ashamed and say: Go to Nuh (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) who was the first messenger sent to the earth. They will come to Nuh (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). He will say: I am not fit for that, and he will remember his question which he asked his Lord without knowledge and be ashamed and say: Go to Ibrahim, the Friend of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). They will come to him. He will say: I am not fit for that; go to Musa (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) whom Allah spoke to directly. They will come to Musa (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). He will say: I am not fit for that; go to 'Isa (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) who is the Word of Allah and His Spirit. He will say: I am not fit for that; go to Muhammad (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). They will come to me and say: You are fit for it. So I will seek permission from my Lord and it will be granted. Allah will inspire me with praises which I do not recall at this moment, and I will praise Him with those praises and fall prostrate before Him. He will say: O Muhammad! Raise your head, speak and you will be heard, ask and you will be given, intercede and your intercession will be accepted. I will submit: O my Lord! My Ummah! My Ummah! He will say: Go and bring out from the Fire whoever has in his heart faith equal to the weight of a barley grain. I will go and do so. Then I will return a second time and praise Him with those same praises and fall prostrate before Him. He will say: O Muhammad! Raise your head, speak and you will be heard, ask and you will be given, intercede and your intercession will be accepted. I will submit: O my Lord! My Ummah! My Ummah! He will say: Go and bring out from the Fire whoever has in his heart faith even smaller than a mustard seed. I will go and do so. Then I will return a third time and praise Him with those same praises and fall prostrate before Him. He will say: O Muhammad! Raise your head, speak and you will be heard, ask and you will be given, intercede and your intercession will be accepted. I will submit: O my Lord! My Ummah! My Ummah! He will say: Go and bring out from the Fire whoever has in his heart the most minute trace of faith, even less than a mustard seed. I will go and do so.'
اردو ترجمہ
ابو کامل فضیل بن حسین جحدری اور محمد بن عبید غبری نے کہا: (الفاظ ابو کامل کے ہیں) ہمیں ابو عوانہ نے قتادہ سے حدیث سنائی، انہوں نے حضرت انس بن مالک رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کی، انہوں نے کہا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: ''اللہ تعالیٰ قیامت کے دن لوگوں کو جمع کرے گا اور وہ اس بات پر فکر مند ہوں گے (کہ اس دن کی سختیوں سے کیسے نجات پائی جائے)۔ (ابن عبید نے کہا: ان کے دل میں یہ بات ڈالی جائے گی) اور وہ کہیں گے: اگر ہم اپنے رب کے حضور کوئی سفارش لائیں تاکہ وہ ہمیں اس جگہ (کی سختیوں) سے راحت دے۔'' آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: ''وہ آدم علیہ السلام کے پاس آئیں گے اور کہیں گے: آپ آدم ہیں، بنی نوع انسان کے باپ، اللہ نے آپ کو اپنے ہاتھ سے پیدا کیا، اپنی روح آپ میں پھونکی اور فرشتوں کو آپ کے سامنے سجدہ کرایا۔ ہمارے رب کے حضور ہماری سفارش کیجیے تاکہ وہ ہمیں اس جگہ سے راحت دے۔ وہ فرمائیں گے: میں اس قابل نہیں ہوں، اور وہ اپنی لغزش یاد کریں گے اور شرمندہ ہوں گے اور فرمائیں گے: نوح علیہ السلام کے پاس جاؤ جو زمین کی طرف بھیجے گئے پہلے رسول ہیں۔ وہ نوح علیہ السلام کے پاس آئیں گے۔ وہ فرمائیں گے: میں اس قابل نہیں ہوں، اور وہ اپنا سوال یاد کریں گے جو انہوں نے اپنے رب سے بغیر علم کے کیا تھا اور شرمندہ ہوں گے اور فرمائیں گے: ابراہیم خلیل اللہ (علیہ السلام) کے پاس جاؤ۔ وہ ان کے پاس آئیں گے۔ وہ فرمائیں گے: میں اس قابل نہیں ہوں، موسیٰ (علیہ السلام) کے پاس جاؤ جن سے اللہ نے کلام فرمایا۔ وہ موسیٰ علیہ السلام کے پاس آئیں گے۔ وہ فرمائیں گے: میں اس قابل نہیں ہوں، عیسیٰ (علیہ السلام) کے پاس جاؤ جو اللہ کے کلمہ اور اس کی روح ہیں۔ وہ فرمائیں گے: میں اس قابل نہیں ہوں، محمد (صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے پاس جاؤ۔ وہ میرے پاس آئیں گے اور کہیں گے: آپ اس کے اہل ہیں۔ چنانچہ میں اپنے رب سے اجازت لوں گا تو مجھے اجازت دی جائے گی اور اللہ مجھے ایسی حمد و ثناء الہام فرمائے گا جو مجھے اس وقت یاد نہیں ہے، میں اس حمد و ثناء سے اللہ کی تعریف کروں گا اور اس کے سامنے سجدے میں گر جاؤں گا۔ اللہ فرمائے گا: اے محمد! سر اٹھاؤ اور کہو، تمہاری بات سنی جائے گی، مانگو، تمہیں دیا جائے گا، شفاعت کرو، تمہاری شفاعت قبول کی جائے گی۔ میں عرض کروں گا: اے میرے رب! میری امت! میری امت! اللہ فرمائے گا: جاؤ اور جس کے دل میں جَو کے دانے کے برابر بھی ایمان ہو اسے آگ سے نکال لو۔ میں جاؤں گا اور ایسا کروں گا۔ پھر دوبارہ واپس آؤں گا اور انہی حمد و ثناء سے اللہ کی تعریف کروں گا اور سجدے میں گر جاؤں گا۔ اللہ فرمائے گا: اے محمد! سر اٹھاؤ اور کہو، سنا جائے گا، مانگو، دیا جائے گا، شفاعت کرو، قبول کی جائے گی۔ میں عرض کروں گا: اے میرے رب! میری امت! میری امت! فرمائے گا: جاؤ اور جس کے دل میں رائی کے دانے سے بھی چھوٹا ذرہ برابر ایمان ہو اسے آگ سے نکال لو۔ میں جاؤں گا اور ایسا کروں گا۔ پھر تیسری بار واپس آؤں گا اور انہی حمد و ثناء سے اللہ کی تعریف کروں گا اور سجدے میں گر جاؤں گا۔ فرمائے گا: اے محمد! سر اٹھاؤ اور کہو، سنا جائے گا، مانگو، دیا جائے گا، شفاعت کرو، قبول کی جائے گی۔ میں عرض کروں گا: اے میرے رب! میری امت! میری امت! فرمائے گا: جاؤ اور جس کے دل میں رائی کے دانے سے بھی انتہائی چھوٹا ذرہ برابر ایمان ہو اسے آگ سے نکال لو۔ میں جاؤں گا اور ایسا کروں گا۔''
