'Amr ibn Muhammad ibn Bukayr al-Naqid narrated to me, Hashim ibn al-Qasim Abu al-Nadr narrated to us, Sulayman ibn al-Mughirah narrated from Thabit, from Hadrat Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be well pleased with him), who said: We were forbidden from asking the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) about anything without genuine need. So we were pleased when an intelligent bedouin would come and ask him while we listened. A bedouin came and said: 'O Muhammad (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), your envoy came to us and told us that you claim Allah sent you as a Messenger.' He stated: 'He spoke the truth.' He asked: 'Who created the heavens?' He stated: 'Allah.' He asked: 'Who created the earth?' He stated: 'Allah.' He asked: 'Who raised these mountains and made what is in them?' He stated: 'Allah.' He said: 'By Him who created the heavens, the earth, and raised the mountains — did Allah truly send you as a Messenger?' He stated: 'Yes.' He said: 'Your envoy also told us that we must pray five prayers in a day and a night.' He stated: 'He spoke the truth.' He said: 'By Him who sent you, did Allah command you this?' He stated: 'Yes.' He said: 'Your envoy also told us that we must pay zakat from our wealth.' He stated: 'He spoke the truth.' He said: 'By Him who sent you, did Allah command you this?' He stated: 'Yes.' He said: 'Your envoy also told us that we must fast the month of Ramadan.' He stated: 'He spoke the truth.' He said: 'By Him who sent you, did Allah command you this?' He stated: 'Yes.' He said: 'Your envoy also told us that whoever among us has the means to reach the House must perform Hajj.' He stated: 'He spoke the truth.' Then he turned away saying: 'By Him who sent you with the truth, I shall neither add to these nor fall short of them.' The Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: 'If he is truthful, he shall certainly enter Paradise.'

مجھ سے عمرو بن محمد بن بکیر ناقد نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے ہاشم بن قاسم ابو النضر نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے سلیمان بن مغیرہ نے ثابت سے، انہوں نے حضرت انس بن مالک رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کی، فرمایا: ہمیں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے (بے ضرورت) کسی چیز کے بارے میں سوال کرنے سے منع کیا گیا تھا، تو ہمیں بہت اچھا لگتا تھا کہ کوئی سمجھ دار بادیہ نشین آئے اور آپ سے سوال کرے اور ہم (بھی جواب) سنیں۔ چنانچہ ایک بدوی آیا اور عرض کیا: اے محمد (صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم)! آپ کا قاصد ہمارے پاس آیا اور اس نے ہمیں بتایا کہ آپ فرماتے ہیں کہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے آپ کو رسول بنا کر بھیجا ہے۔ ارشاد فرمایا: ''سچ کہا۔'' عرض کیا: آسمان کس نے پیدا کیا؟ فرمایا: ''اللہ نے۔'' عرض کیا: زمین کس نے پیدا کی؟ فرمایا: ''اللہ نے۔'' عرض کیا: ان پہاڑوں کو کس نے کھڑا کیا اور جو کچھ ان میں ہے وہ کس نے بنایا؟ فرمایا: ''اللہ نے۔'' عرض کیا: تو اس ذات کی قسم جس نے آسمان پیدا کیا، زمین پیدا کی اور پہاڑ کھڑے کیے، کیا واقعی اللہ تعالیٰ نے آپ کو رسول بنا کر بھیجا ہے؟ ارشاد فرمایا: ''ہاں۔'' عرض کیا: آپ کے قاصد نے یہ بھی کہا کہ ہم پر دن رات میں پانچ نمازیں فرض ہیں۔ ارشاد فرمایا: ''سچ کہا۔'' عرض کیا: اس ذات کی قسم جس نے آپ کو بھیجا! کیا اللہ تعالیٰ نے آپ کو یہ حکم دیا ہے؟ فرمایا: ''ہاں۔'' عرض کیا: آپ کے قاصد نے یہ بھی کہا کہ ہم پر اپنے مالوں میں زکوٰۃ فرض ہے۔ فرمایا: ''سچ کہا۔'' عرض کیا: اس ذات کی قسم جس نے آپ کو بھیجا! کیا اللہ تعالیٰ نے آپ کو اس کا حکم دیا ہے؟ فرمایا: ''ہاں۔'' عرض کیا: آپ کے قاصد نے یہ بھی کہا کہ ہم پر رمضان کے مہینے کے روزے فرض ہیں۔ فرمایا: ''سچ کہا۔'' عرض کیا: اس ذات کی قسم جس نے آپ کو بھیجا! کیا اللہ تعالیٰ نے آپ کو اس کا حکم دیا ہے؟ فرمایا: ''ہاں۔'' عرض کیا: آپ کے قاصد نے یہ بھی کہا کہ ہم میں سے جو بیت اللہ تک پہنچنے کی استطاعت رکھتا ہو اس پر حج فرض ہے۔ فرمایا: ''سچ کہا۔'' پھر وہ واپس ہوا اور کہا: اس ذات کی قسم جس نے آپ کو حق کے ساتھ بھیجا! نہ ان میں کچھ زیادہ کروں گا اور نہ کم۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: ''اگر سچ کہتا ہے تو ضرور جنت میں داخل ہو گا۔''
