عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ:: خَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: «يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ قَدْ فُرِضَ عَلَيْكُمُ الْحَجُّ فَحُجُّوا» فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ: أَكُلَّ عَامٍ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ فَسَكَتَ حَتَّى قَالَهَا ثَلَاثًا فَقَالَ: " لَوْ قُلْتُ: نَعَمْ لَوَجَبَتْ وَلَمَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ " ثُمَّ قَالَ: ذَرُونِي مَا تَرَكْتُكُمْ فَإِنَّمَا هَلَكَ مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ بِكَثْرَةِ سُؤَالِهِمْ وَاخْتِلَافِهِمْ عَلَى أَنْبِيَائِهِمْ فَ��ِذَا أَمَرْتُكُمْ بِشَيْءٍ فَأْتُوا مِنْهُ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ وَإِذَا نَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنْ شَيْء فدَعُوه ". رَوَاهُ مُسلم
انگریزی ترجمہ
Hadrat Abu Huraira told that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) addressed them saying, “Pilgrimage (In what follows I have used the word "pilgrimage” where only the hajj is intended; but when reference is made to both hajj and ’umra the Arabic words are used without translation to avoid misunderstanding.) has been ordained for you people, so perform it.” A man asked whether it should be performed annually, but God’s messenger gave no reply till he had asked the question three times. Then he said, “If I were to say that it should, it would be obligatory and you would not be able to perform it,” after which he said, “Leave me alone as long as I have said nothing to you, for your predecessors perished simply on account of their much questioning and their disagreement with their prophets. But when I command you to do anything, obey it as much as you can; and when I forbid you to do anything, leave it alone.” Muslim transmitted it.
اردو ترجمہ
حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ہمیں خطبہ دیا اور فرمایا: اے لوگو! تم پر حج فرض کیا گیا ہے تو حج کرو۔ ایک آدمی نے عرض کیا: کیا ہر سال یا رسول اللہ؟ آپ خاموش رہے یہاں تک کہ اس نے تین بار پوچھا۔ آپ نے فرمایا: اگر میں ہاں کہہ دیتا تو واجب ہو جاتا اور تم اس کی طاقت نہ رکھتے۔ پھر فرمایا: مجھے چھوڑ دو جب تک میں تمہیں چھوڑے رکھوں کیونکہ تم سے پہلے لوگ اپنے زیادہ سوالات اور اپنے انبیاء سے اختلاف کی وجہ سے ہلاک ہوئے۔ جب میں تمہیں کسی چیز کا حکم دوں تو اسے جتنا ہو سکے بجا لاؤ اور جب کسی چیز سے منع کروں تو اسے چھوڑ دو۔ (مسلم)
