أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَرُوبَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ وَهْبِ بْنِ أَبِي كَرِيمَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَبِي أُنَيْسَةَ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ عَنْ خَيْثَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ قَالَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «خَيْرُ النَّاسِ قَرْنِي ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ثُمَّ يَأْتِي قَوْمٌ يَسْبِقُ أَيْمَانُهُمْ شَهَادَتَهُمْ وَشَهَادَتُهُمْ أَيْمَانَهُمْ»

Abu Urubah informed us, Muhammad ibn Wahb ibn Abi Karimah narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Salamah narrated to us from Abu Abd al-Rahim from Zayd ibn Abi Unaysah from Asim from Khaythamah ibn Abd al-Rahman from al-Nu'man ibn Bashir who said: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "The best of people are my generation, then those who follow them, then those who follow them. Then there will come people whose oaths will precede their testimony and whose testimony will precede their oaths."
