Hadrat al-Nawwas ibn Sam'an (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) mentioned the False Messiah one morning. He would belittle and magnify him until we thought that he was in the palm-grove. When we went to him in the evening, he recognized that in us. He said: "What is the matter with you?" We said: "O Messenger of Allah, you mentioned the False Messiah this morning, and you belittled and magnified him until we thought that he was in the palm-grove." He stated: "Something other than the False Messiah is more fearful to me for you. If he emerges while I am among you, I will be his adversary on your behalf. And if he emerges while I am not among you, then every man will be his own advocate, and Allah will be my successor over every Muslim. He is a young man with curly hair and a protruding eye. I liken him to Abd al-Uzza ibn Qatan. Whoever among you encounters him should recite over him the opening verses of Surah al-Kahf. He will emerge from a place between Syria and Iraq, and he will spread corruption right and left. O servants of Allah, be firm!" We said: "O Messenger of Allah, how long will he stay on the earth?" He stated: "Forty days: one day like a year, one day like a month, one day like a week, and the rest of his days like your days." We said: "O Messenger of Allah, on the day which is like a year, will one day's prayer suffice us?" He stated: "No, but estimate the time for it." We said: "O Messenger of Allah, how swift will his movement be on the earth?" He stated: "Like the rain cloud driven by the wind. He will come to a people and call them, and they will believe in him and respond to him. So he will command the sky and it will rain, and he will command the earth and it will produce. Their livestock will return to them in the evening with their humps very high and their udders full of milk and their flanks stretched. Then he will come to another people and call them, and they will reject his words. So he will depart from them, and they will wake up in the morning destitute, with none of their wealth remaining with them. He will pass by the ruins and say to it: 'Bring forth your treasures!' So its treasures will follow him like swarms of bees. Then he will summon a man brimming with youth and strike him with the sword and cut him into two pieces at the distance of a bow-shot. Then he will call him, and he will come forward with his face beaming with laughter. While this is happening, Allah will send the Messiah, son of Mary, and he will descend at the white minaret in the eastern part of Damascus, wearing two garments dyed with saffron, placing his hands on the wings of two angels. Whenever he lowers his head, drops will fall, and whenever he raises it, beads like pearls will scatter from it. No disbeliever will smell his breath without dying, and his breath will reach as far as his sight extends. He will pursue him until he overtakes him at the gate of Ludd and kills him. Then Jesus will come to people whom Allah has protected from him, and he will wipe their faces and inform them of their ranks in Paradise. While this is happening, Allah will reveal to Jesus: 'I have brought forth servants of Mine whom no one has power to fight. So take My servants safely to Mount Tur.' Then Allah will send Gog and Magog, and they will swarm down from every elevation. The first of them will pass by the Lake of Tiberias and drink from it, and the last of them will pass by it and say: 'There was once water here.' The Prophet of Allah, Jesus, and his companions will be besieged until the head of an ox will be dearer to one of them than one hundred dinars are to one of you today. Then the Prophet of Allah, Jesus, and his companions will supplicate Allah, and Allah will send upon them worms in their necks, and they will perish like the death of a single soul. Then the Prophet of Allah, Jesus, and his companions will come down from the mountain, and they will not find on the earth a span that is not filled with their stench and corruption. So the Prophet of Allah, Jesus, and his companions will supplicate Allah, and He will send birds with necks like the necks of Bactrian camels, and they will carry them away and throw them wherever Allah wills. Then Allah will send rain which no house of clay or camel-hair will keep out, and it will wash the earth until it leaves it like a mirror. Then it will be said to the earth: 'Bring forth your fruit and restore your blessing!' On that day, a group will eat from a pomegranate and seek shade beneath its skin, and milk will be blessed so that a milch-camel will suffice for a multitude of people, and a cow will suffice for a tribe, and a sheep will suffice for a family. While this is happening, Allah will send a pleasant wind which will take them beneath their armpits, and it will take the soul of every believer and every Muslim, and there will remain the evil people who will fornicate openly like donkeys. And upon them the Hour will be established."

حضرت نواس بن سمعان رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ایک صبح دجال کا ذکر کیا۔ آپ اسے چھوٹا اور بڑا کرتے رہے یہاں تک کہ ہم نے سوچا کہ وہ کھجوروں کے باغ میں ہے۔ جب ہم شام کو آپ کے پاس گئے تو آپ نے ہم میں یہ بات پہچان لی۔ آپ نے فرمایا: "تمہیں کیا ہو گیا ہے؟" ہم نے عرض کیا: "یا رسول اللہ! آپ نے آج صبح دجال کا ذکر کیا، اور آپ نے اسے چھوٹا اور بڑا کیا یہاں تک کہ ہم نے سوچا کہ وہ کھجوروں کے باغ میں ہے۔" آپ نے فرمایا: "دجال کے علاوہ کچھ اور تمہارے لیے مجھے زیادہ خوفناک ہے۔ اگر وہ نکلے جبکہ میں تمہارے درمیان ہوں تو میں تمہاری طرف سے اس کا مخالف ہوں گا۔ اور اگر وہ نکلے جبکہ میں تمہارے درمیان نہ ہوں تو ہر آدمی اپنا وکیل ہوگا، اور اللہ ہر مسلمان پر میرا جانشین ہوگا۔ وہ ایک نوجوان ہے گھنگریالے بالوں والا اور ابھری ہوئی آنکھ والا۔ میں اس کو عبدالعزیٰ بن قطن سے تشبیہ دیتا ہوں۔ تم میں سے جو اس سے ملے اسے چاہیے کہ اس پر سورہ کہف کی ابتدائی آیات پڑھے۔ وہ شام اور عراق کے درمیان کی جگہ سے نکلے گا، اور دائیں بائیں فساد پھیلائے گا۔ اے اللہ کے بندو! ثابت قدم رہو!" ہم نے عرض کیا: "یا رسول اللہ! وہ زمین پر کتنے عرصے تک رہے گا؟" آپ نے فرمایا: "چالیس دن: ایک دن ایک سال کی طرح، ایک دن ایک مہینے کی طرح، ایک دن ایک ہفتے کی طرح، اور باقی دن تمہارے دنوں کی طرح۔" ہم نے عرض کیا: "یا رسول اللہ! جو دن ایک سال کی طرح ہو، کیا ایک دن کی نماز ہمیں کافی ہوگی؟" آپ نے فرمایا: "نہیں، بلکہ اس کے لیے وقت کا اندازہ لگاؤ۔" ہم نے عرض کیا: "یا رسول اللہ! زمین پر اس کی رفتار کتنی تیز ہوگی؟" آپ نے فرمایا: "ہوا سے چلائے گئے بارش کے بادل کی طرح۔ وہ ایک قوم کے پاس آئے گا اور انہیں بلائے گا، اور وہ اس پر ایمان لائیں گے اور اس کا جواب دیں گے۔ تو وہ آسمان کو حکم دے گا اور بارش ہوگی، اور زمین کو حکم دے گا اور وہ اگائے گی۔ ان کے مویشی شام کو ان کے پاس لوٹیں گے ان کی کوہانیں بہت اونچی اور ان کے تھن دودھ سے بھرے اور ان کے پہلو پھیلے ہوئے۔ پھر وہ دوسری قوم کے پاس آئے گا اور انہیں بلائے گا، اور وہ اس کے کلام کو رد کر دیں گے۔ تو وہ ان سے چلا جائے گا، اور وہ صبح کو محتاج اٹھیں گے، ان کی دولت میں سے کچھ بھی ان کے پاس نہیں رہے گا۔ وہ کھنڈرات سے گزرے گا اور اس سے کہے گا: 'اپنے خزانے نکالو!' تو اس کے خزانے شہد کی مکھیوں کے جھنڈ کی طرح اس کے پیچھے آئیں گے۔ پھر وہ ایک نوجوان کو بلائے گا اور اسے تلوار سے مارے گا اور اسے کمان کی مسافت پر دو ٹکڑوں میں کاٹ دے گا۔ پھر وہ اسے بلائے گا، اور وہ ہنستا ہوا آگے آئے گا اس کا چہرہ چمک رہا ہوگا۔ جب یہ ہو رہا ہوگا تو اللہ مسیح ابن مریم کو بھیجے گا، اور وہ دمشق کے مشرقی حصے میں سفید مینار پر نازل ہوں گے، زعفران سے رنگے ہوئے دو کپڑے پہنے ہوئے، دو فرشتوں کے بازوؤں پر ہاتھ رکھے ہوئے۔ جب بھی وہ اپنا سر جھکائیں گے قطرے گریں گے، اور جب بھی وہ اسے اٹھائیں گے تو موتیوں کی طرح دانے اس سے بکھریں گے۔ کوئی کافر ان کی سانس کو نہیں سونگھے گا مگر وہ مر جائے گا، اور ان کی سانس جہاں تک ان کی نظر جائے گی وہاں تک پہنچے گی۔ وہ اس کا تعاقب کریں گے یہاں تک کہ لُد کے دروازے پر اسے پکڑ لیں گے اور اسے قتل کر دیں گے۔ پھر عیسیٰ ان لوگوں کے پاس آئیں گے جنہیں اللہ نے اس سے بچایا ہوگا، اور وہ ان کے چہرے پونچھیں گے اور انہیں جنت میں ان کے درجات کے بارے میں بتائیں گے۔ جب یہ ہو رہا ہوگا تو اللہ عیسیٰ کو وحی کرے گا: 'میں نے اپنے بندے نکالے ہیں جن سے لڑنے کی کسی کو طاقت نہیں۔ تو میرے بندوں کو محفوظ طور پر طور کے پہاڑ پر لے جاؤ۔' پھر اللہ یاجوج ماجوج کو بھیجے گا، اور وہ ہر بلندی سے نیچے آئیں گے۔ ان میں سے پہلے طبریہ کی جھیل سے گزریں گے اور اس سے پئیں گے، اور ان میں سے آخری اس سے گزریں گے اور کہیں گے: 'یہاں کبھی پانی تھا۔' اللہ کے نبی عیسیٰ اور ان کے ساتھی محاصرے میں ہوں گے یہاں تک کہ ان میں سے کسی کے لیے بیل کا سر آج تم میں سے کسی کے لیے سو دینار سے زیادہ قیمتی ہوگا۔ پھر اللہ کے نبی عیسیٰ اور ان کے ساتھی اللہ سے دعا کریں گے، اور اللہ ان کی گردنوں میں کیڑے بھیجے گا، اور وہ ایک جان کی موت کی طرح ہلاک ہو جائیں گے۔ پھر اللہ کے نبی عیسیٰ اور ان کے ساتھی پہاڑ سے نیچے آئیں گے، اور وہ زمین پر ایک بالشت بھی نہیں پائیں گے جو ان کی بدبو اور فساد سے بھری نہ ہو۔ تو اللہ کے نبی عیسیٰ اور ان کے ساتھی اللہ سے دعا کریں گے، اور وہ پرندے بھیجے گا جن کی گردنیں بختی اونٹوں کی گردنوں کی طرح ہیں، اور وہ انہیں اٹھا کر لے جائیں گے اور جہاں اللہ چاہے گا پھینک دیں گے۔ پھر اللہ بارش بھیجے گا جسے مٹی کا کوئی گھر یا اونٹ کے بالوں کا خیمہ نہیں روکے گا، اور وہ زمین کو دھوئے گی یہاں تک کہ اسے آئینے کی طرح چھوڑ دے گی۔ پھر زمین سے کہا جائے گا: 'اپنا پھل نکالو اور اپنی برکت بحال کرو!' اس دن ایک جماعت ایک انار سے کھائے گی اور اس کے چھلکے کے نیچے سایہ ڈھونڈے گی، اور دودھ میں برکت ہوگی تو ایک دودھ دینے والی اونٹنی بہت سے لوگوں کے لیے کافی ہوگی، اور ایک گائے ایک قبیلے کے لیے کافی ہوگی، اور ایک بکری ایک خاندان کے لیے کافی ہوگی۔ جب یہ ہو رہا ہوگا تو اللہ ایک خوشگوار ہوا بھیجے گا جو انہیں ان کی بغلوں کے نیچے سے لے گی، اور وہ ہر مومن اور ہر مسلمان کی روح لے لے گی، اور بُرے لوگ باقی رہیں گے جو گدھوں کی طرح کھلے عام بدکاری کریں گے۔ اور ان پر قیامت قائم ہوگی۔"

حضرت نواس بن سمعان رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ایک صبح دجال کا ذکر کیا۔ آپ اسے چھوٹا اور بڑا کرتے رہے یہاں تک کہ ہم نے سوچا کہ وہ کھجوروں کے باغ میں ہے۔ جب ہم شام کو آپ کے پاس گئے تو آپ نے ہم میں یہ بات پہچان لی۔ آپ نے فرمایا: "تمہیں کیا ہو گیا ہے؟" ہم نے عرض کیا: "یا رسول اللہ! آپ نے آج صبح دجال کا ذکر کیا، اور آپ نے اسے چھوٹا اور بڑا کیا یہاں تک کہ ہم نے سوچا کہ وہ کھجوروں کے باغ میں ہے۔" آپ نے فرمایا: "دجال کے علاوہ کچھ اور تمہارے لیے مجھے زیادہ خوفناک ہے۔ اگر وہ نکلے جبکہ میں تمہارے درمیان ہوں تو میں تمہاری طرف سے اس کا مخالف ہوں گا۔ اور اگر وہ نکلے جبکہ میں تمہارے درمیان نہ ہوں تو ہر آدمی اپنا وکیل ہوگا، اور اللہ ہر مسلمان پر میرا جانشین ہوگا۔ وہ ایک نوجوان ہے گھنگریالے بالوں والا اور ابھری ہوئی آنکھ والا۔ میں اس کو عبدالعزیٰ بن قطن سے تشبیہ دیتا ہوں۔ تم میں سے جو اس سے ملے اسے چاہیے کہ اس پر سورہ کہف کی ابتدائی آیات پڑھے۔ وہ شام اور عراق کے درمیان کی جگہ سے نکلے گا، اور دائیں بائیں فساد پھیلائے گا۔ اے اللہ کے بندو! ثابت قدم رہو!" ہم نے عرض کیا: "یا رسول اللہ! وہ زمین پر کتنے عرصے تک رہے گا؟" آپ نے فرمایا: "چالیس دن: ایک دن ایک سال کی طرح، ایک دن ایک مہینے کی طرح، ایک دن ایک ہفتے کی طرح، اور باقی دن تمہارے دنوں کی طرح۔" ہم نے عرض کیا: "یا رسول اللہ! جو دن ایک سال کی طرح ہو، کیا ایک دن کی نماز ہمیں کافی ہوگی؟" آپ نے فرمایا: "نہیں، بلکہ اس کے لیے وقت کا اندازہ لگاؤ۔" ہم نے عرض کیا: "یا رسول اللہ! زمین پر اس کی رفتار کتنی تیز ہوگی؟" آپ نے فرمایا: "ہوا سے چلائے گئے بارش کے بادل کی طرح۔ وہ ایک قوم کے پاس آئے گا اور انہیں بلائے گا، اور وہ اس پر ایمان لائیں گے اور اس کا جواب دیں گے۔ تو وہ آسمان کو حکم دے گا اور بارش ہوگی، اور زمین کو حکم دے گا اور وہ اگائے گی۔ ان کے مویشی شام کو ان کے پاس لوٹیں گے ان کی کوہانیں بہت اونچی اور ان کے تھن دودھ سے بھرے اور ان کے پہلو پھیلے ہوئے۔ پھر وہ دوسری قوم کے پاس آئے گا اور انہیں بلائے گا، اور وہ اس کے کلام کو رد کر دیں گے۔ تو وہ ان سے چلا جائے گا، اور وہ صبح کو محتاج اٹھیں گے، ان کی دولت میں سے کچھ بھی ان کے پاس نہیں رہے گا۔ وہ کھنڈرات سے گزرے گا اور اس سے کہے گا: 'اپنے خزانے نکالو!' تو اس کے خزانے شہد کی مکھیوں کے جھنڈ کی طرح اس کے پیچھے آئیں گے۔ پھر وہ ایک نوجوان کو بلائے گا اور اسے تلوار سے مارے گا اور اسے کمان کی مسافت پر دو ٹکڑوں میں کاٹ دے گا۔ پھر وہ اسے بلائے گا، اور وہ ہنستا ہوا آگے آئے گا اس کا چہرہ چمک رہا ہوگا۔ جب یہ ہو رہا ہوگا تو اللہ مسیح ابن مریم کو بھیجے گا، اور وہ دمشق کے مشرقی حصے میں سفید مینار پر نازل ہوں گے، زعفران سے رنگے ہوئے دو کپڑے پہنے ہوئے، دو فرشتوں کے بازوؤں پر ہاتھ رکھے ہوئے۔ جب بھی وہ اپنا سر جھکائیں گے قطرے گریں گے، اور جب بھی وہ اسے اٹھائیں گے تو موتیوں کی طرح دانے اس سے بکھریں گے۔ کوئی کافر ان کی سانس کو نہیں سونگھے گا مگر وہ مر جائے گا، اور ان کی سانس جہاں تک ان کی نظر جائے گی وہاں تک پہنچے گی۔ وہ اس کا تعاقب کریں گے یہاں تک کہ لُد کے دروازے پر اسے پکڑ لیں گے اور اسے قتل کر دیں گے۔ پھر عیسیٰ ان لوگوں کے پاس آئیں گے جنہیں اللہ نے اس سے بچایا ہوگا، اور وہ ان کے چہرے پونچھیں گے اور انہیں جنت میں ان کے درجات کے بارے میں بتائیں گے۔ جب یہ ہو رہا ہوگا تو اللہ عیسیٰ کو وحی کرے گا: 'میں نے اپنے بندے نکالے ہیں جن سے لڑنے کی کسی کو طاقت نہیں۔ تو میرے بندوں کو محفوظ طور پر طور کے پہاڑ پر لے جاؤ۔' پھر اللہ یاجوج ماجوج کو بھیجے گا، اور وہ ہر بلندی سے نیچے آئیں گے۔ ان میں سے پہلے طبریہ کی جھیل سے گزریں گے اور اس سے پئیں گے، اور ان میں سے آخری اس سے گزریں گے اور کہیں گے: 'یہاں کبھی پانی تھا۔' اللہ کے نبی عیسیٰ اور ان کے ساتھی محاصرے میں ہوں گے یہاں تک کہ ان میں سے کسی کے لیے بیل کا سر آج تم میں سے کسی کے لیے سو دینار سے زیادہ قیمتی ہوگا۔ پھر اللہ کے نبی عیسیٰ اور ان کے ساتھی اللہ سے دعا کریں گے، اور اللہ ان کی گردنوں میں کیڑے بھیجے گا، اور وہ ایک جان کی موت کی طرح ہلاک ہو جائیں گے۔ پھر اللہ کے نبی عیسیٰ اور ان کے ساتھی پہاڑ سے نیچے آئیں گے، اور وہ زمین پر ایک بالشت بھی نہیں پائیں گے جو ان کی بدبو اور فساد سے بھری نہ ہو۔ تو اللہ کے نبی عیسیٰ اور ان کے ساتھی اللہ سے دعا کریں گے، اور وہ پرندے بھیجے گا جن کی گردنیں بختی اونٹوں کی گردنوں کی طرح ہیں، اور وہ انہیں اٹھا کر لے جائیں گے اور جہاں اللہ چاہے گا پھینک دیں گے۔ پھر اللہ بارش بھیجے گا جسے مٹی کا کوئی گھر یا اونٹ کے بالوں کا خیمہ نہیں روکے گا، اور وہ زمین کو دھوئے گی یہاں تک کہ اسے آئینے کی طرح چھوڑ دے گی۔ پھر زمین سے کہا جائے گا: 'اپنا پھل نکالو اور اپنی برکت بحال کرو!' اس دن ایک جماعت ایک انار سے کھائے گی اور اس کے چھلکے کے نیچے سایہ ڈھونڈے گی، اور دودھ میں برکت ہوگی تو ایک دودھ دینے والی اونٹنی بہت سے لوگوں کے لیے کافی ہوگی، اور ایک گائے ایک قبیلے کے لیے کافی ہوگی، اور ایک بکری ایک خاندان کے لیے کافی ہوگی۔ جب یہ ہو رہا ہوگا تو اللہ ایک خوشگوار ہوا بھیجے گا جو انہیں ان کی بغلوں کے نیچے سے لے گی، اور وہ ہر مومن اور ہر مسلمان کی روح لے لے گی، اور بُرے لوگ باقی رہیں گے جو گدھوں کی طرح کھلے عام بدکاری کریں گے۔ اور ان پر قیامت قائم ہوگی۔"
