أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَ�� مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ ابْنِ خُثَيْمٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَابِطٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ لِكَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ «يَا كَعْبَ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ أَعَاذَنَا اللَّهُ مِنْ إِمَارَةِ السُّفَهَاءِ» قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَمَا إِمَارَةُ السُّفَهَاءِ؟ قَالَ «أُمَرَاءُ يَكُونُونَ بَعْدِي لَا يَهْتَدُونَ بِهَدْيِي وَلَا يَسْتَنُّونَ بِسُنَّتِي فَمَنْ صَدَّقَهُمْ بِكِذْبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَأُولَئِكَ لَيْسُوا مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُمْ وَلَا يَرِدُوا عَلَيَّ حَوْضِي وَمَنْ لَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِكِذْبِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَهُمْ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُمْ وَسَيَرِدُونَ عَلَيَّ حَوْضِي يَا كَعْبَ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ الصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ وَالصَّدَقَةُ تُطْفِئُ الْخَطِيئَةَ وَالصَّلَاةُ بُرْهَانٌ أَوْ قَالَ » قُرْبَانٌ يَا كَعْبَ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ النَّاسُ غَادِيَانِ فَمُبْتَاعٌ نَفْسَهُ فَمُعْتِقُهَا وَبَائِعٌ نَفْسَهُ فَمُوبِقُهَا «

Abdullah bin Muhammad Al-Azdi narrated to us, saying: Ishaq bin Ibrahim narrated to us, saying: Abdul-Razzaq informed us, saying: Ma'mar informed us from Ibn Khuthaim from Abdul-Rahman bin Sabit from Jabir bin Abdullah that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said to Ka'b bin Ujrah: "O Ka'b bin Ujrah, may Allah protect us from the rule of the foolish." They said: O Messenger of Allah, what is the rule of the foolish? He said: "Rulers who will come after me who will not follow my guidance nor adopt my Sunnah. Whoever believes their lies and helps them in their oppression, those are not from me and I am not from them, and they will not come to me at my basin. And whoever does not believe their lies and does not help them in their oppression, they are from me and I am from them, and they will come to me at my basin. O Ka'b bin Ujrah, fasting is a shield, charity extinguishes sin, and prayer is a proof," or he said, "an offering. O Ka'b bin Ujrah, people go out in the morning in two groups: one who purchases himself and frees it, and one who sells himself and destroys it."
