Buraydah narrated: A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and asked him about the prayer time. He said: 'Pray with us these two times.' When the sun passed its zenith, he prayed Dhuhr. He said: He prayed Asr while the sun was high, white, and clear. He prayed Maghrib when the sun had set, he prayed Isha when the twilight disappeared, and he prayed Fajr in darkness. He said: The next day, he commanded Bilal to call the adhan for Dhuhr and he delayed it well. He commanded him to establish Asr while the sun was still clear - he delayed it beyond what it was the first time. He commanded him to establish Maghrib before the twilight disappeared, he commanded him to establish Isha after a third of the night had passed, and he commanded him to establish Fajr so he prayed it in the light. Then he said: 'Where is the one who asked about the prayer time?' He said: 'Here I am, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'The time for your prayers is between what you have seen.'
