وَعَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ; أَنَّ رَسُولَ اَللَّهِ - صلى الله عليه وسلم -قَالَ: { لَا تَحِدَّ اِمْرَأَةٌ عَلَى مَيِّتٍ فَوْقَ ثَلَاثٍ إِلَّا عَلَى زَوْجٍ أَرْبَعَةَ أَشْهُرٍ وَعَشْرًا, وَلَا تَلْبَسْ ثَوْبًا مَصْبُوغًا, إِلَّا ثَوْبَ عَصْبٍ, وَلَا تَكْتَحِلْ, وَلَا تَمَسَّ طِيبًا, إِلَّا إِذَا طَهُرَتْ نُبْذَةً مِنْ قُسْطٍ أَوْ أَظْفَارٍ. } مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ, وَهَذَا لَفْظُ مُسْلِمٍ 11 - صحيح. رواه البخاري (313)، ومسلم (2127/ رقم66).
انگریزی ترجمہ
It is narrated by Hadrat Umm 'Atiyah (may Allah be well pleased with him) that Allah's Messenger (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: "A woman must not observe her mourning for more than three nights for the one who has died, except for the four months and ten days in the case of her husband; and she must not wear a dyed garment except one of the type made of 'Ash (dyed yarn) or apply Kuhl (antimony), or apply perfume, except for a little Qust or Azfar, when she has been purified after her menstruation." .
اردو ترجمہ
حضرت اُمّ عطیہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: کوئی عورت کسی میت پر تین دن سے زیادہ سوگ نہ منائے سوائے شوہر کے جس کا سوگ چار مہینے دس دن ہے۔ اور رنگین کپڑا نہ پہنے سوائے عصب کے کپڑے کے، نہ سرمہ لگائے اور نہ خوشبو لگائے سوائے پاکی کے وقت ذرا سی قسط یا اظفار کے۔ متفق علیہ اور یہ الفاظ مسلم کے ہیں۔
