Narrated Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him): By Allah, besides whom there is no god, I would at times lie down on the ground, pressing my belly against it out of hunger, and at times I would tie a stone to my belly. One day I sat down along the path of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and his Companions. First Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) passed by, so I asked him about a verse of the Qur'an — only so that he might invite me and take me home to feed me — but he went on. Then Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) passed by, and I said the same to him, but he too went on. Then Abu al-Qasim (Muhammad, peace be upon him) passed by. When he saw me, he understood, and he smiled and said: "O Abu Hirr!" I said: "Here I am, O Messenger of Allah!" He said: "Come with me." So I followed him. He (peace be upon him) entered his house; I sought permission to enter, and I was granted permission. I went in. The Prophet (peace be upon him) saw a bowl of milk and asked: "Where has this come from?" The people of the house said: "So-and-so man," or he said "so-and-so woman, gave it to you as a gift." He (peace be upon him) said: "O Abu Hirr!" I said: "Here I am, O Messenger of Allah!" He said: "Call the people of the Suffah." Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) explained that the people of the Suffah were the guests of the Muslims; they had no home, no wealth or belongings, and no friend or acquaintance whose house they might go to and stay in (they remained in the mosque). Whenever charity came, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) would not partake of it himself (for charity was forbidden to him (peace be upon him) and to his family), but would give it to them; and if a gift came, he would keep some for himself and give some to them. Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: When the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) told me: "Go and call the people of the Suffah," I felt very reluctant. I said to myself: How can this little milk be enough for the people of the Suffah? I was the one who had the most right to this milk — had I drunk some of it, I would have gained a little strength. But when the people of the Suffah came, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) would command me to serve them the milk, and once they began to drink, there would be no hope of any milk being left for me at the end. But what could I do? Carrying out the command of Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him) was absolutely necessary. So, willing or not, I went to them and called them. They sought permission to enter, and he (peace be upon him) granted them permission. They came in and took their places. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said to me: "O Abu Hirr!" I said: "Here I am, O Messenger of Allah!" He said: "Serve them this milk." So I began giving each one the bowl of milk. When one had drunk, he would return the bowl to me; I would give it to the next man, and he too would drink his fill and return the bowl to me. (Then I would give it to the third.) In this manner, after everyone, I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). By then the people of the Suffah had all drunk their fill. He (peace be upon him) took the bowl in his hand, looked at me, smiled, and said: "Now only you and I remain." I said: "Indeed, O Messenger of Allah! You have spoken the truth." He (peace be upon him) said: "Sit down and drink." So I sat down and began to drink. He (peace be upon him) said: "Drink more." So I drank more. He (peace be upon him) kept saying this until I said: "By the One who sent you with the truth, there is no more room in my belly." So he (peace be upon him) said: "Well then, give it to me." I gave it to him, and he (peace be upon him) praised Allah, said 'Bismillah,' and drank the remaining milk. سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیںقسم ہے اللہ کی جس کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں ہے کہ بسا اوقات میں بھوک کی وجہ سے زمین پر پیٹ لگا کر لیٹ جاتا تھا اور بسا اوقات پیٹ سے پتھر باندھ لیتا تھا اور ایک روز میں نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماور ان کے اصحاب کے راستے میں بیٹھ گیا۔ پہلے وہاں سے ابوبکر (رضی اللہ عنہ) گزرے تو میں نے ان سے قرآن کی ایک آیت پوچھی (صرف) اس لیے کہ میرا مقصود پوچھیں اور مجھے گھر لے جا کر کھانا کھلا دیں (لیکن) وہ چلے گئے۔ پھر سیدنا عمر (رضی اللہ عنہ) گزرے تو ان سے بھی ایسے ہی کہا لیکن وہ بھی چلے گئے۔ پھر ابوالقاسم (محمدصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) ادھر سے گزرے۔ مجھے دیکھ کر سمجھ گئے اور مسکرا کر فرمایا:”اے ابوہر! میں نے کہا لبیک یا رسول اللہ! فرمایا:”میرے ساتھ آؤ۔“میں ساتھ ہو لیا۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمگھر میں داخل ہوئے، میں نے اندر آنے کی اجازت لی، مجھے اجازت دی گئی۔“میں اندر چلا گیا۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے دودھ کا ایک پیالہ دیکھا تو فرمایا:”یہ کہاں سے آیا ہے؟“گھر والوں نے کہا فلاں شخص یا یہ کہا کہ فلاں عورت نے آپ کے لیے تحفہ دیا ہے۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”اے ابوہر!“میں نے کہا لبیک یا رسول اللہ! اہل”صفہ کو بلا لاؤ۔“ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ اہل صفہ مسلمانوں کے مہمان تھے نہ ان کا کوئی گھر تھا اور نہ کوئی مال و اسباب اور نہ کوئی دوست آشنا جس کے گھر جا کر رہتے (مسجد میں پڑے رہتے تھے) جب کوئی صدقہ کا مال آتا تو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمخود اس میں سے تناول نہ فرماتے (کیونکہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی آل پر صدقہ حرام تھا) بلکہ انھیں کو دے دیا کرتے اور اگر کوئی تحفہ آتا تو کچھ اپنے لیے رکھ لیتے اور کچھ انھیں دے دیتے۔ سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ جب مجھے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”جا اور اصحاب صفہ کر بلا لاؤ تو مجھے بہت برا لگا۔ میں نے اپنے دل میں کہا کہ بھلا یہ اتنا سا دودھ اصحاب صفہ کو کیسے کافی ہو سکتا ہے؟ اس دودھ کا حقدار تو میں تھا، اس میں سے کچھ پیتا تو ذرا مجھ میں طاقت آتی اور جب اہل صفہ آئیں گے تو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلممجھ کو ہی حکم دیں گے کہ ان کو دودھ پلا، جب وہ پینا شروع کر دیں گے تو اس بات کی امید نہیں ہے کہ اخیر میں کچھ دودھ مجھے بھی ملے گا۔ مگر کیا کرتا اللہ و رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکا حکم بجا لانا تو اشد ضروری تھا۔ چار و ناچار میں ان کے پاس گیا اور ان (اصحاب صفہ) کو بلا لایا۔ انھوں نے اندر آنے کی اجازت چاہی تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے اجازت دے دی۔ وہ آئے اور اپنی اپنی جگہ پر بیٹھ گئے۔ نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے مجھ سے فرمایا:”اے اباہر!“میں نے کہا، لبیک یا رسول اللہ!۔ فرمایا:”انھیں یہ دودھ پلاؤ۔“میں نے ان میں سے ایک ایک کو دودھ کا پیالہ دینا شروع کیا۔ جب وہ پی چکتا تو دودھ والا پیالہ مجھ کو واپس کر دیتا۔ دوسرے شخص کو دیتا تو وہ بھی سیر ہو کر پیتا اور پیالہ مجھ کو واپس کر دیتا۔ (پھر تیسرے شخص کو دیتا) اسی طرح سب کے بعد رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس پہنچا۔ اس وقت تک اصحاب صفہ خوب سیر ہو کر پی چکے تھے۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے پیالہ ہاتھ پر رکھ کر میری طرف دیکھا اور مسکرائے اور فرمایا:”اب تو اور میں باقی رہ گئے میں نے کہا”بیشک یا رسول اللہ! آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے سچ فرمایا۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”بیٹھ جا اور دودھ پیو۔“میں بیٹھ گیا اور دودھ پینا شروع کر دیا۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”اور پیو۔“تو میں نے اور پیا۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمیہی فرماتے رہے یہاں تک کہ میں نے کہا قسم اس پروردگار کی جس نے آپ کو سچائی کے ساتھ بھیجا ہے اب میرے پیٹ میں جگہ نہیں رہی تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”اچھا اب مجھے دیدے۔“میں نے دے دیا تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے اللہ کی حمد بیان کی اور بسم اللہ کہہ کر باقی بچا ہوا دودھ نوش فرما لیا۔ (یہ بھی نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے معجزات میں سے ایک معجزہ تھا)۔[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 2102]
