Narrated Shaddad bin Aws (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "The best form of seeking forgiveness is (this): 'O Allah! You are my Lord, there is no true god worthy of worship except You. You created me, and I am Your servant, and I abide by Your covenant and promise as much as I am able. I seek refuge with You from the (evil) deeds I have done. I acknowledge Your favor upon me, and I acknowledge my sin; so forgive me my faults, for indeed none forgives sins except You.'" And he said: "Whoever recites this (supplication of) seeking forgiveness during the day, believing in it with conviction, and dies that day before evening, he is of the people of Paradise; and whoever recites it at night with full conviction, and dies before morning, he too is of the people of Paradise."
اردو ترجمہ
سیدنا شداد بن اوس رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”سب سے افضل استغفار یہ ہے (ترجمہ)”اے اللہ! تو میرا مالک ہے تیرے سوا کوئی سچا معبود نہیں، تو نے ہی مجھ کو پیدا کیا ہے، میں تیرا بندہ ہوں اور تیرے عہد اور وعدے پر جہاں تک مجھ سے ہو سکتا ہے قائم ہوں، میں نے جو (جو برے) کام کیے ہیں، ان سے تیری پناہ چاہتا ہوں اور میں تیرے احسان اور اپنے گناہ کا اقرار کرتا ہوں، (پس تو) میری خطائیں معاف فرما دے، بیشک تیرے سوا کوئی گناہوں کا معاف فرمانے والا نہیں ہے۔“اور فرمایا:”جس نے اس (دعائے) استغفار کو، اس پر یقین کرتے ہوئے دن میں پڑھا اور اس روز وہ شام سے پہلے مر گیا تو وہ جنتی ہے اور جس نے رات کو کامل یقین کے ساتھ پڑھا اور صبح ہونے سے پہلے مر گیا، تو وہ بھی جنتی ہے۔“[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 2070]
