Ahmad ibn Uthman ibn Hakim narrated to us, Abd al-Rahman ibn Sharik narrated to us, from his father, from al-A'mash, from Abu Salih, from Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him), from the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) who stated: «I shall inform you about people's affairs and their differences: A man who is quick to anger and quick to return — that is neither against him nor for him, it is even. A man who is slow to anger and quick to be pleased — that is for him and not against him. A man who is quick to anger and slow to be pleased — that is against him and not for him. A man who collects what is due to him and pays what he owes — that is neither for him nor against him. And a man who collects what is due to him but delays paying people what is theirs — that is against him and not for them.» This hadith — we do not know that anyone narrated it from al-A'mash, from Abu Salih, from Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) except Sharik, and no one narrated it from Sharik except his son.
