حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ قَالَ نا مَالِكُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ قَالَ نا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْقُمِّيُّ عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنِّي مُمْسِكٌ بِحُجَزِكُمْ هَلُمَّ عَنِ النَّارِ وَأَنْتُمْ تَهَافَتُونَ فِيهَا أَوْ تَقَاحَمُونَ تَقَاحُمَ الْفَرَاشِ فِي النَّارِ وَالْجَنَادِبِ يَعْنِي فِي النَّارِ وَأَنَا مُمْسِكٌ بِحُجَزِكُمْ وَأَنَا فَرَطٌ لَكُمْ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ فَتَرِدُونَ عَلَيَّ مَعًا وَأَشْتَاتًا فَأَعْرِفَكُمْ بِسِيمَاكُمْ وَأَسْمَائِكُمْ كَمَا يَعْرِفُ الرَّجُلُ الْفَرَسَ وَقَالَ غَيْرُهُ كَمَا يَعْرِفُ الرَّجُلُ الْغَرِيبَةَ مِنَ الْإِبِلِ فِي إِبِلِهِ فَيُؤْخَذُ بِكُمْ ذَاتَ الشِّمَالِ فَأَقُولُ إِلَيَّ يَا رَبِّ أُمَّتِي أُمَّتِي فَيَقُولُ أَوْ يُقَالُ يَا مُحَمَّدُ إِنَّكَ لَا تَدْرِي مَا أَحْدَثُوا بَعْدَكَ كَانُوا يَمْشُونَ بَعْدَكَ الْقَهْقَرَى فَلَا أَعْرِفَنَّ أَحَدَكَمْ يَأْتِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يَحْمِلُ شَاةً لَهَا ثُغَاءٌ يُنَادِي يَا مُحَمَّدُ فَأَقُولُ لَا أَمْلِكُ لَكَ شَيْئًا قَدْ بُلِّغْتَ وَلَا أَعْرِفَنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ يَأْتِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يَحْمِلُ بَعِيرًا لَهُ رُغَاءٌ يُنَادِي يَا مُحَمَّدُ فَأَقُولُ لَا أَمْلِكُ لَكَ مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئًا قَدْ بُلِّغْتَ وَلَا أَعْرِفَنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ يَأْتِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يَحْمِلُ قَشْعًا فَيَقُولُ يَا مُحَمَّدُ يَا مُحَمَّدُ فَأَقُولُ لَا أَمْلِكُ لَكَ مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئًا قَدْ بُلِّغْتَ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَا نَعْلَمُهُ يُرْوَى عَنْ عُمَرَ إِلَّا مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ وَحَفْصُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ لَا نَعْلَمُ رَوَى عَنْهُ إِلَّا يَعْقُوبُ الْقُمِّيُّ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنِّي مُمْسِكٌ بِحُجَزِكُمْ هَلُمَّ عَنِ النَّارِ وَأَنْتُمْ تَهَافَتُونَ فِيهَا أَوْ تَقَاحَمُونَ تَقَاحُمَ الْفَرَاشِ فِي النَّارِ وَالْجَنَادِبِ يَعْنِي فِي النَّارِ وَأَنَا مُمْسِكٌ بِحُجَزِكُمْ وَأَنَا فَرَطٌ لَكُمْ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ فَتَرِدُونَ عَلَيَّ مَعًا وَأَشْتَاتًا فَأَعْرِفَكُمْ بِسِيمَاكُمْ وَأَسْمَائِكُمْ كَمَا يَعْرِفُ الرَّجُلُ الْفَرَسَ وَقَالَ غَيْرُهُ كَمَا يَعْرِفُ الرَّجُلُ الْغَرِيبَةَ مِنَ الْإِبِلِ فِي إِبِلِهِ فَيُؤْخَذُ بِكُمْ ذَاتَ الشِّمَالِ فَأَقُولُ إِلَيَّ يَا رَبِّ أُمَّتِي أُمَّتِي فَيَقُولُ أَوْ يُقَالُ يَا مُحَمَّدُ إِنَّكَ لَا تَدْرِي مَا أَحْدَثُوا بَعْدَكَ كَانُوا يَمْشُونَ بَعْدَكَ الْقَهْقَرَى فَلَا أَعْرِفَنَّ أَحَدَكَمْ يَأْتِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يَحْمِلُ شَاةً لَهَا ثُغَاءٌ يُنَادِي يَا مُحَمَّدُ فَأَقُولُ لَا أَمْلِكُ لَكَ شَيْئًا قَدْ بُلِّغْتَ وَلَا أَعْرِفَنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ يَأْتِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يَحْمِلُ بَعِيرًا لَهُ رُغَاءٌ يُنَادِي يَا مُحَمَّدُ فَأَقُولُ لَا أَمْلِكُ لَكَ مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئًا قَدْ بُلِّغْتَ وَلَا أَعْرِفَنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ يَأْتِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يَحْمِلُ قَشْعًا فَيَقُولُ يَا مُحَمَّدُ يَا مُحَمَّدُ فَأَقُولُ لَا أَمْلِكُ لَكَ مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئًا قَدْ بُلِّغْتَ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَا نَعْلَمُهُ يُرْوَى عَنْ عُمَرَ إِلَّا مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ وَحَفْصُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ لَا نَعْلَمُ رَوَى عَنْهُ إِلَّا يَعْقُوبُ الْقُمِّيُّ

Al-Fadl ibn Sahl narrated to us saying: Malik ibn Isma'il narrated to us saying: Ya'qub ibn Abdullah al-Qummi narrated to us from Hafs ibn Humayd from Ikrimah from Ibn Abbas from Umar ibn al-Khattab who said: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: 'Indeed, I am holding onto your waist-wrappers (to pull you back) from the Fire, and you are rushing into it or plunging into it like moths plunging into fire and grasshoppers - meaning into the Fire - and I am holding onto your waist-wrappers. And I am your forerunner at the Hawd (Pool), and you will come to me in groups and scattered, and I will recognize you by your distinguishing marks and your names, just as a man recognizes a horse' - and another said: 'just as a man recognizes the strange camel among his camels.' 'Then some of you will be taken to the left, and I will say: To me, O Lord! My Ummah, my Ummah!' It will be said, or He will say: 'O Muhammad, you do not know what they innovated after you - they were walking backwards after you.' 'So let me not recognize any of you coming on the Day of Resurrection carrying a sheep that is bleating, calling out: O Muhammad!' and I will say: 'I cannot help you in anything; the Message has been conveyed.' 'And let me not recognize any of you coming on the Day of Resurrection carrying a camel that is bellowing, calling out: O Muhammad!' and I will say: 'I cannot help you in anything from Allah; the Message has been conveyed.' 'And let me not recognize any of you coming on the Day of Resurrection carrying rags, saying: O Muhammad, O Muhammad!' and I will say: 'I cannot help you in anything from Allah; the Message has been conveyed.' This hadith, we do not know it being narrated from Umar except from this route with this chain of transmission. And Hafs ibn Humayd, we do not know anyone who narrated from him except Ya'qub al-Qummi.
